A staff member should feel the need to be active in-game and should want to be helping the community. They know what the expectations are yet decide to spend their time roaming on the forums instead of helping out in-game. There's approximately 6 staff online on the forums compared to none on the server. If staff want to keep a good reputation, insure to be active in-game as well as on the forums.

tbh purge won't really work as some inactive moderators and others have gotten quite bored of the server and don't help much anymore but if the purge were to happen they'd become active and help as much as possible then once (if) they got their position back they'd just become inactive again and the cycle would continue, All I believe is as a moderator you are supposed to consistently help and if you aren't then you should be demoted, then it gives a chance for other applicants to prove them selves. not that complicated, but no purge is needed Cyp knows what he's doing.

If staff member is bored enough not to help anyone then I can ensure that he/she won't apply once again.

If your promoted to the staff team, then your doing something right. If a mod was in-active without any explanation, they would probably be warned or demoted if the issue continues. Honestly I can probably say I've seen every .net mod at least once or twice in-game. I get up at around 5:30 am every morning to go online before school, I usually see Krissy online a lot at that time. When I get back I usually see Frozen, Lemonade, Lycel, Moonlight, and Roblox online. (Those mods I have mentioned tend to be the most active ones from what I've seen at the times I'm online.)

If we were to do this purge, there's no guarantee that our staff team foundation would be the same, so there would be no guarantee our staff team would run the same. Every staff team has minor bugs, so I don't believe there's really a reason to do a purge and mess up the team as it is now.

While I agree there are almost never any staff online anymore, you can't just go and demote everyone with no good applications for promotions.
For example, you state that there is a need for active staff on different timezone. I absolutely agree, but you can't just promote on a whim because this one applicant is from the UK or the other is from AU.
The inactive staff here are rarely demoted. It's always been that way and while it baffles me, I don't see it ever changing.
As for staff on vacations or a leave of absence, a forum node could easily be made public with only staff perms to post threads within. Prefixes added ie: "On Vacation" or "Leave of Absence". The threads could show the time the staff member plans on being gone as well as an estimated return date. This would help to let the community know who is available to help and who is not, as well as put to rest the rumors of "laziness". (not everyone is lazy... life issues do come up)
Anyway, best of luck to you.

I agree with that you cannot go demoting mods, and what not, for no reason, but do not think that there are no good applications.

I was speaking in generalities. I meant no disrespect.
Your opinion on what is a great application along with mine or anyone elses doesn't matter. What does matter is if Cyp feels the application is worthy of a promotion. He won't go demoting staff without (what he feels) having proper applications worthy of promoting.
With school starting back up and the staff becoming even less active promotions are likely soon. That doesn't solve the issue of inactive staff.

I see as to what you mean, what one person can see as a good application, another might see as a bad application. It's just basically opinions right now. Active staff members are needed, but no one makes changes but Cypriot.

Not saying this is a bad idea. I like this idea; don't get me wrong.

Unfortunately true, but any player that votes on the poll could choose every mod active and the poll could be extremely bias.

It won't happen. And if it does, I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

I've read the thread many times over and over again, yet I still do not get the concept of this "purge".
Would this be a one time thing? Or would it be perminate? As in this would be the staff team until Cyp decides to demote or promote more members.

Mods can be sometimes be difficult to talk too because there're too busy helping people.... I get it. But I don't see how this "purge" will help anyone.

Maybe once in 3 months, a dozen of active members will be randomly selected, to evaluate one of the moderators. And depending on what those active people say, Cyp can determine these moderators who are seemingly "bribed".
