I just bought skylord rank and got a pig spawner. I just have a few questions about using it.

1. I understand that I have a command to change the mob it spawns, do I need to be holding it, or have it placed?
2. If I want to break it and move it in the future, is that possible?
3. If it is possible, is there a specific tool that must be used to successfully pick up the spawner?

 

1. You must first place a spawner, point your cursor at it and type in the command to change it. Some spawners need grass around it in order for the mob to spawn like pigs, cows, sheep, etc and some spawners need dark room like skeletons, zombies, etc and some need a specific chunk like slime and I think squid at a certain Y access, and some can be changed by right clicking the mob egg spawn on like parrots, guardians and horses spawners.
2. Most of the spawners can be broken using a silk pickaxe and when placed will automatically turn into pig so you can turn it back using the /spanner command and some you need a manager to move it for you so it doesn't turn back into pig like the guardian one and possibly the horse and parrot spawners.
3. Use a diamond pickaxe with silk touch enchantment.

Squid is Y=0-200 I think here and slimes need slime chunks. Wait, can skylords do /spawner? What mobs can we set them to?

 

Yes, any player Skyking (donor25) or above can change spawner types. If you do /spawner without looking at a spawner it will list the types available to you.

Once you’ve done /spawner once, you’ll have a 30 second cool down before you can use it again.

Thank you all very much for the help. Sorry if this had been answered before, I had done a couple of searches on here, but no good guides popped up for spawners. The last thing I wanted to do was just place it somewhere and want to move it later only to figure out I couldn't.

 

remember you can also change your name with /nick [playername] and to fly /fly ! Also we have similar pfp's

 

Not super interested in the name change, but I have already started flying around my island. I wasn't planning on using fly as I didn't want to feel like I was cheating. But after I reverted to 1.12 to fix the graphical issues on my island, I found my water elevator was far less effective than in 1.15 so I started flying out of sheer frustration.
