So after a lot of research, multiple people asked etc. I still have no idea whats actually allowed, possible etc. When it comes to mobs. First of, when placing a spawner, can one choose spawner type? Which types of spawners is not allowed? One mod said all but zombies and iron golem, one mod said all but zombie, pigmen golem and with, and a skygod said all but zombie. Last question, how to find zombies? I got a stack of rotten flesh in drop party earlier, so pretty certain its possible?
When you place a spawner, it's instantly a pig spawner. You can change the spawner to zombie but it will not spawn, because that's disabled. The only reason there is rotten flesh in game, is because Zombies use to be enabled. They're disabled to prevent iron farming. as the same with many other spawners. There are still witch spawners out there but you can no longer type /spawner witch Iron golems are disabled due to iron farming. Blaze spawners are still out there, but you can no longer type /spawner blaze Pigmen are just like zombies, you can set the spawner to Pigmen but they won't spawn. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the ones that you have access too. /spawner cow /spawner sheep /spawner slime /spawner creeper /spawner mushroomcow /spawner pig /spawner skeleton /spawner squid /spawner chicken /spawner snowman /spawner wolf /spawner spider /spawner cavespider /spawner magmacube /spawner enderman /spawner Ocelot
It's the exact same on Org as well, except you're actually disabled from changing the spawner to zombie or pig zombie as well. There are no blaze or witch spawners either and the only zombie spawners on org are at /warp mob. Also a few things to note... The passive mobs; cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, mooshrooms, wolves and ocelots need grass to spawn on, dirt won't cut it. Squid need water and a certain depth to spawn I believe. Slimes can be a real pain, they will spawn in a swamp biome (which doesn't exist on org by the way), or you will need to find a slime chunk. They also need a certain depth and light level I believe... so be prepared when trying to spawn slimes. XD
Thank you both for your answers, it answered all my questions and more, so im quite happy about that ^^ Quick to answer too (So slime is worth it, but is a lot of work since it MUST be within a slime chunk, and since drowning trap for slime doesnt work for 1.8 .. hmm, now i know my next project )
