I think it would be a good idea to stop people from camping directly on the spawn bedrock.. The countless people i see complaining on the chat that they died and dropped all their items to have them hovered up by a 1.8 client that cant be pushed... Im honestly not sure how you could prevent it though, however a solution needs to be devised

 

Type /home or any other warp when you're about to die. Also, if you die at spawn or anywhere else, you might loose your stuff, may it be because of clearlag or another Player. That's the game. I cannot see how skyblock is still not easy enough to some People...

Besides, I would also not see any automated solution to this Problem. If someone is Camping at spawn on purpose, this is illegal and you can ask a mod to TPA him away and warn him.

That sounds like an unsolvable solution, how will it work when someone is at spawn, they just get sent back to their island? Yes people do /spawn when they fall off the edge, but you should try and do /home, where if you have a small parameter on your island, your items will stay on there, or place some water above the bedrock.

Support if you can find a way how to stop this, but I don't think there is

I have seen a variety of these threads, and the problem is not getting solved. Many new players fall off a platform, and when they are falling they either disconnect or /spawn. Many of those players would /spawn since they may not have an island, or may not know that /home, /is, or /sb is a command. This would help players since if new players die when they fall and do /spawn, they would just rage quit. If they die at their island. Many other reasons why.

 

Just remove fall damage from spawn... Problem solved

 

Maybe remove all damage from spawn? I have seen players complaining about not being able to PvP for a bit because the Lava at spawn that takes you to /warp pvp takes off half your health. Or put some water at spawn.

A way to support no damage at spawn (even though it's kinda weird): Spawn areas in basically every game besides CS:GO don't allow players to take damage, from enemies or anything else. The idea is that spawns are supposed to be a safe place.

 

I don't fully understand why there even is fall damage at spawn.. It's a simple solution that can be solved in a jiffy.

 

As of now keep-inventory is on so this doesn't matter.

 

Keep inventory on is a solution. but how about the attraction to new people (noobs) to get many items just farming at spawn, that will kepp them with the desire of play on the server and not to abandon. In fact that will move the economy on the server because, new people get items and they can trade or use it in their islands.

Maybe, just think in the consecuences of destroy that atraction for the noobs.

This is an important theme to debate, because it can be more beneficial for the server.

Someone got banned *temporarily* for spawn camping multiple times and collecting player's items. I have been watching him, and he once got a diamond chest plate. It's also a good idea to disable damage at /spawn, since too many players complain about losing their items.
