Skyblock Noobish Guide to Glory Hello everyone. I will be sharing few things I learnt where enough information was not there or if it was then it was hard to follow setting up Trade shop example. you want to sell 64 Chiseled stones for 1 Grass Step1 attach the sign on the empty chest type following [Trade] number (of items you are selling) number (of grass you want for that item) exit the editor the sign will look like this after exiting. step 2 grab the item in your hand you want to sell hit the sign (right click) with the item the sign will update with [for sale] item Name the number of item for sale number of grass required your Minecraft name Trusting / Untrusting players my only one bad experience right from the start was when I trusted a player to show me how to resolve water freezing issue on my island. Although I was mindful that trusting can be risky but I didnt know how to remove him from trust list. I did ask over the chat but there was no information and I hoped that as long as I am logged off he cant come to my island. but obviously I was wrong. when I logged back next time. my lava bucket, gems, ore, grass blocks etc were all gone and I had no way to recover and I had to restart. only then I learn by then that you can remove someone from trust list by typing /untrust [player name] Unlimited water since its a noobish guide so I have to state the obvious and explain well known tricks that are not hacks or cheats but part of the game as an acceptable trick like making unlimited water supply. dig out 3 blocks in horizontal. or place blocks in a way that you have a single block wall around three blocks in a row X1 X2 X3 now using your starter pack smash the ice block in X1 and an other in X3. now use the empty lava bucket to fill up water from X2 and use it for other blocks where you need water e.g stone generator. (of course you have already poured lava into a lock to pick up later). tip: place torches next to water source blocks to stop them from freezing. (note this tip is automatically repeated by the server like many other tips). === more to come saving yourself from ground entities cleanup mishap. avoiding trade mistakes, work around available recopies and decoration blocks., PS: Moderators, please move to correct section or merge with similar thread if there is already one existing. sorry I didnt see anything related to post there,
Oooh thanks for writing this! I'm sure it'll be helpful for new people on forums who are also new in game It's not always easy to explain something to newbies because they sometimes don't understand so this could hopefully help
As devil said, I'm sure this will come in handy when explaining to the newer players the basics such as making shops and all that! Thank you for taking the time to write this guide
Food Issue so when i started I was worried that my toon will die of starvation. helplessly looking for the vegetables and wheat to grow and hope the crops dont fail. but later on I discovered the /warp passive on the chat ( as you realize there is so much information being bombarded that as a noob you will struggle to keep up) there you can satisfy all your meat eating needs by forging pork, chicken, eggs, meat, mutton, and other useful items like wool, leather and milk (by using empty lava bucket on cows) come back home and spoil yourself with some grill and fill up you hunger bars. once you start doing that. your plants will only serve as cosmetic, trade or in case of change in diet (we need our greens don't we?) Leather, wool, Milk you can sue that free farmed leather to make some starter leather armor for yourself to absorb that fall damage. leather can be used towards your bookshelf decoration. Milk you can use as an antidote to poison from my mother in law's poison attack at / warp mob (the witch). start saving those voter keys. use grass for important trade I appreciate everyone has a different play style but for new players like myself I have learnt that while early in the game with limited resources and much to learn about server mechanics and economy. its best to save up for the keys and the grass and use it on important things to progress in game and your island. as you progress in the game then I think more options will open up at the voters crate then you can sue those keys there. otherwise you can still sell those keys for good grass exchange., although its tempting to go to casinos and buy cosmetic items but only after you have spent few grass blocks on following. get yourself enchanted tools i.e enchanted Axe and enchanting pick axe and then enchanted sword you can buy them from top sellers you will see their adverts all the time I wont name them in case I miss few but you will get your favorites and the prices are same on these items averaging 2 grass. why Enchanted Pick Axe? it will speed up your cobble stone farm from your stone generator by single hit. Why enchanted Axe? same principle you will be able to harvest the wood from your trees with a single hit this will decrease your grinding time immensely. Why enchanted sword? it will have two uses. essential. go to the passive farm and one hit the sheep, pigs , cows and get yourself cooked meat. so the farming is a sinful fun and food and raw material is just a bonus. fun. when you think you are ready. equip yourself with the enchanted sword and /warp mob and roast those pesky undead with your enchanted sword with the relative protection of the window. do watch out for other players pranking on you by opening windows behind you. (it happened to me and I lost good amount of gear and weapons and the piglins kept roasting me with my own sword until they despawned). and finally Free repair of your tools and weapons yes that is right. it will be a shame to loose your grass paid enchanted tools to the dreadful durability loss. simply go back to the seller island where you got your weapons from and use your weapons on the spawned mobs and as you gain experience your equipped weapon or tool (and enchanted gear you have on you, if you bought it). will be repaired as well. you will get gold nuggets and arrows as well. one such example of a famous sellers are Alexandregme , Haberson, Kaitheguy22 etc.. I am sure there are others as well and I will add their names too if people advise me for the sake of fairness as I am not advertising for personal gain or special favour. PS: of course everything I wrote here is true at the time of this post. if the game admin or Mojang itself decides to change the game rules then whatever I have written above may no longer be valid so if that unfortunately happens then accept my apology. see you on the server
Hi Pancake, can you please move my thread to players guide section of the forum? so that it gets more views and replies and any corrections if needed? cheers
I'll contact a staff member for you and have them move it if they can. Thanks again for the guide! You can edit your guide and add the parts that you commented by the way!
Usual Questions I see on the Chat how do I get Grass blocks? Can I sell Grass blocks? Why I cant trade Bucket/ mud Blocks? How do i set up trade? How can I get Iron? just for the sake of new players like I was only a short while ago I will try to answer. Answer 1: you get grass blocks through voting and trading. Grass block are the currency of survival servers. just for sake of decoration on your island: Another way to get grass blocks is converting mud blocks into grass blocks. by placing the mud blocks next to a block that has grass on it or placing a grass block with mud blocks around it. over time the grass will grow on all mud blocks. but this is only for your own use. you cant trade it and picking any such block will turn it into a non trade-able mud block. I am not aware if silk touch on shovel is allowed by admins/ mods or they jsut look the other way as it destroys the economy. Answer 2: Grass block is the currency of the survival server on Skyblock. the economy is based on number of grass blocks you exchange for different items and game features like changing biome etc. Answer 3: my understanding is mud blocks are like grass blocks and allowing their trade will affect the game economy. I am not sure why buckets are not allowed for trading. because one can make buckets through 3 iron bars on a crafting table. one wont need more than 2 or (3 in extreme cases) buckets at any given time (one with lava and one with water and occasionally third with milk). in my view their trade shouldn't affect the game economy or its working in anyway. but maybe more experienced players can correct me. Answer 4: visit the official Skyblock forums and look for player guides including this thread. Answer 5: you get Iron through trading with other players or through your cobble stone generator which has a small chance of spawning iron, coal and other minerals. browse the web for different designs and visit other players. the chances increase if the spawner generates multiple stone blocks per instance of water and lava interaction.
was I replied to by mistake? or was this directed at me haha Very useful information for new players still although I'm not sure why you replied to me specifically haha
