Skyblock on Minecraft 1.19.2 has recently been released!

This is our biggest update yet, jumping from version 1.12.2 to 1.19.2, there are hundreds of new items, dozens of new mobs, an improved Nether, and new Skyblock gameplay! We had to update essentially everything on our servers and in the process we improved many on-going issues and added exciting new features.

Please keep in mind that there will be various bugs and issues as this update is new to us. Please report everything on our forums and check out our changelog below to read over just some of the new features that have been added!

    Changelog:

    1. Updating from 1.12.2 to 1.19.2 introduces a total of 541 new items and block/block variants (not all of them will be obtainable) as well as a bunch of new mobs, biomes, and much more.

    2. Build heights have changed from Y: (0 to 255) to Y: (-63 to 319).

    3. To introduce Deepslate, if you make a Cobble generator at a height of Y = 8 and below it will spawn Cobbled Deepslate instead. Deepslate ores will also spawn rarely instead of normal ore blocks. The rate is the same as it is with Cobblestone. Making a Stone generator instead at this depth will also produce Deepslate (The non-cobbled variant).

    4. Shopkeepers at spawn on Skyblock Survival have been updated with new items and modified values.

    5. The in-game shop (/shop) on Skyblock Economy has been updated and will now sell a bunch of new, higher version items and blocks. Please keep in mind it is still a work in progress! Let us know what more to add.

    6. Lucky Crates have been improved with new items and slightly modified chances. Specific items that are naturally un-obtainable and some pets will be in crates to create more of a rarity. Crates will no longer select a disguise or pet if you have already received it before. (This appears broken but will be fixed)

    7. The new addition of /preferences. Here you can customize your personal settings of various features such as your scoreboard and other plugin messages. This will be expanded on in the future.

    8. Our old alternate redstone algorithm has been replaced with a new one with similar performance benefits, this new system will hopefully further improve the compatibility with some vanilla redstone contraptions. This will not affect the current redstone limit.

    9. The shop plugin on Skyblock Survival no longer crashes the server for the first 10 minutes after every server reboot.

    10. New shop system with find command (/shops find).

    11. New tutorial challenges to introduce mechanics to new players.

    12. New design for the Skyblock Menu with a new layout and extra information. If you enter a sub-menu such as /changebiome and try to escape or close the menu, it will instead put you back to the main menu for easier navigation.

    13. The ore generation system has been updated and is now using a more modern weight solution which will increase its precision by a lot. The /gen command will also simulate one million iterations the first time it gets used and then display the results behind the configured chances. Please keep in mind that those simulated values might change on every restart once it'll simulate again.

    14. New scoreboard that displays useful info like your current location, island level, challenges progress, and visitor settings. The displayed info will change based on the island you are currently on. It is currently disabled by default but can be toggled using /scoreboard toggle.

    15. The server-sided render distance has been increased meaning that you'll be able to see more chunks around you. This only has a small performance impact because the amount of chunks that will get ticked do not change.

    16. We replaced the old, outdated, bartender system with a new one. The new bartender will no longer feature a gambling mechanic and instead each drink will provide fun and temporary potion effects.

    17. You now get warned when you try to place a collectible (/collectibles) and you have to confirm it.

    18. Kits with a 24h cooldown will reset at a fix time every day instead of 24h after using the command.

    19. Some items from the Lucky Crates have a color attached to the name such as "Sponge" in yellow, placing this will remove the color however.

    20. The auto message system ([Skyblock] server messages) can now react to specific conditions, for example it'll notify players who have a low food level that there is a public animal farm at /warp passive which they can use to get some food, each of those messages has a rather long per-player cooldown to not bother anyone.

    21. Many of you know that the natural spawn rates of monsters and animals have been a big issue for a long time and it has got to a point where regular player weren't able to get a single mob to spawn on their island during the more busy hours. We adjusted the mob spawning system which should result in much better mob spawn rates, especially animals, which will now spawn much more frequently than before. The changes also affect the the mob limit which will now scale based on the amount of players that are currently online (and are not playing together). Most of the typical vanilla spawn rules still apply so make sure that you have enough space and the proper light level.

    22. The old hologram system has been replaced with a new, more modern, system which allows us to build more complex and interesting holograms.

    23. The old pets plugin has been replaced with a new, more modern, system with extensive customization options. Old pets will need to be re-spawned however. Axolotl, Turtle, Dolphin, Bee, Fox, and Allay are found in crates only. Other pets will be added to ranks in the future or they will be provided in a different method.

    24. The old disguise plugin has been replaced with a new, more modern, system. Disguises have been moved around for the ranks, for most if you have the Pet you likely will also have the Disguise. This does not apply to Snowman, Rabbit, and Silverfish.

    25. Nether has been updated to support Minecraft 1.19.2 world generation. Keep in mind however that chances of receiving items when mining are lower than natural, this is to account for the fact that the Nether does not normally exist on Skyblock but we want to include it anyways. Magma Blocks are now obtainable. Please see the mention below in regards to Netherrite.

    26. Ancient Debris has been disabled from being mined in the Nether. This was a difficult decision to make but we feel is the right one. Skyblock is not supposed to have the default Nether world and it was added in the past for fun and when the Nether was a simple place of a few minerals such as Netherrack, Soul Sand, and Glow Stone. This however keeps changing and it doesn't make sense to provide a full Nether world to Skyblock. Along with this, as Netherrite is supposed to be more valuable than Diamonds, x-raying would be a serious issue and one abusive player can simply ruin the entire economy for Netherrite. It would also be a never ending game for staff to monitor. We have also disabled loot from chests in Bastions. Netherrite as of now can only be obtained from Epic crates. It will likely be provided rarely by Wandering Traders as well.

    27. The Nether drop rate system has been changed completely, the Fortune enchant will now increase your drop chance rather than the amount of items that will drop. Mainly new players will benefit from this change because we increased the base chance but overall this is a buff for everyone, here is how it'll affect the average drop rates of quartz for example (in comparison to the old Fortune system):

      No Fortune: 25% more drops.
      Fortune I: 18.6% more drops.
      Fortune II: 9% more drops.
      Fortune III: 1.6% more drops.

    28. All players will be able to sit on stairs/slabs (by right clicking them) and anywhere on the floor by using /sit. Additional commands such as /lay and /crawl will be added to ranks soon.

    29. The island creation process received experimental changes aiming to heavily improve its performance. The current candidate that was active during the first beta test is effectively ~1800% faster (main thread).

    30. The ClearLag plugin has been removed and will be replaced with a faster, more natural system. Stacks on the ground will now merge if possible (bypassing the stack size limit) and will get removed after a certain amount of time, more common items might despawn sooner than others.

    31. Item tags are attached to stacked items to display the amount of items in the stack. We will make this a toggle-able function in /preferences if we can soon.

    32. Naturally spawned mobs will no longer stack, this will improve the overall performance because stacked mobs only count as one entity (resulting in countless spawn attempts) and will work hand in hand with our improved mob spawn system resulting in much better animal and monster spawn rates on regular islands with enough space.

    33. Phantoms have 50% less health and can only spawn one at a time. You now have 4x as much time to sleep before phantoms will spawn and the global phantom spawn delay has been doubled.

    34. You can now tame Horses properly.

    35. New /trash command for disposing of items easily.

    36. Players now have access to /clearconfirm to toggle inventory clearing confirmations.

    37. Crop Hopper changes on Skyblock Economy that will improve performance 20-30% along with other game changing aspects:

      - Crop Hoppers now collect crops in the whole chunk.

      - Crop Hoppers will now automatically replant wheat seeds and will no longer collect them. However they will not replant seeds if the per-second item limit got hit or if the Crop Hopper is currently disabled.

      - The item yield can now be modified which allows us to make better balancing changes.

      - You will now have to pay taxes for every active Crop Hopper you own per Minecraft day (so every 20 minutes). The tax amount per Crop Hopper is currently calculated as: (3.0 * (tier * 2.0)). All the taxes collected this way will be added to a prize pool (this will change).

      - Crop Hopper prices have changed: T1 10k -> 20k, T2 30k -> 50k, T3 50k -> 80k.

      - Crop Hoppers will now instantly sell the items they collect if their owner is online and the affected chunks are loaded.

    38. Dynamic pricing system that affects the sell prices of specific farm and mob drop items in /shop. The prices will change depending on how often that specific item gets sold in comparison to all other items that get tracked. The system will not only potentially decrease the value of items that the majority of the players sell but it will also increase the value of unpopular items over time. There will be an upper and lower limit so an item can't be worthless or worth too much.

    39. We adjusted multiple settings to increase the overall performance of entity ticking.

    40. A new event limitation system which will reduce the effectiveness and performance impact of things like flush farms. This should greatly increase the overall performance when a lot of players are online that have their own mob farm.

    41. Quests has been added for Economy that allows you to complete randomly selected quests every day. The quests will reset at a fixed time. For completing quests you'll receive basic rewards like money and/or items as well as quest points which you can spend in our new quest shop to buy rare and valuable items. Easy quests can be completed rather quick while harder quests might take some time but will grant more and better rewards.

    42. During a VoteParty there is a 50% chance that a Vote Party Piñata Llama will spawn at spawn for a fixed duration. The Llama will constantly push nearby players away and hitting it will grant you extra rewards up to a per-player limit. It will also constantly drop experience orbs that you can pick up to increase your level.

    43. At fixed times every day Wandering Traders will spawn at a random spot around the spawn area for 20 minutes. All traders will buy items (Economy only) that you can farm whilst playing like bones, carrots, fish for a much higher price than "/warp shop" up to a per-player limit. There is also a server wide limit so you might have to hurry if you want to sell your items. Traders will also sell potentially exotic items at random to you based on their type which you can check by looking at the decoration that the trader's llamas are wearing, those items will also have a per-player and server wide sell limit. Mainly new players will benefit from the buy feature because the amount of items that you can sell to the trader is rather low (usually 64 items or less) but you'll get much more money than if you'd sell to "/warp shop" while players that have been playing for a while might benefit more from the sell feature if they are looking for specific, uncommon, items and blocks. Interacting with a Wandering Trader without buying or selling anything will upset the trader's llamas. (Don't upset the llamas)

    44. An improved AntiCheat has been added. We will need to tweak this if any issues occur. Please report any normal movements that may potentially be blocked or cause you issues.

    45. Using a Nether Portal in the Nether will teleport you back to your island's spawn point.

    46. The /jobs plugin was not finished in time for this update, expect this to release in a couple weeks for Skyblock Economy.

    47. There is a new /sell handall command that allows you to sell all items in your inventory that match the item in your hand.

    48. Offline vote rewards can now be claimed using the /vp claim command. This way players will no longer lose items if their inventories are full. This also applies to rewards received from Vote Parties when your inventory is full.

    49. Coral Blocks can now be crafted with 9x Coral Fans of the corresponding color. This item can be obtained using bonemeal in ocean biomes.

    50. Our custom recipes are now available in the vanilla recipe book (the green book that you can find in your inventory/crafting table UI). This way you don't have to memorize them or check the info warp when you want to use them.

    51. Most old trade shops on Skyblock Survival should now be fixed. We did start out with around 24,000 but now 148k are converted correctly.

    52. New improvements to /changebiome menu and different pricing for more advanced biomes. Biomes in Minecraft have a larger role in the type of animal spawns. For instance, the Bamboo Forest has a chance of naturally spawned Pandas.
Special thanks to Dex for making all of this happen, he's responsible for all of these custom and unique features!

Thank you to the entire staff team and all of the beta testers as well for contributing to this awesome update!

Also I apologize for the longer than expected downtime with all of this and it was a lot more than we thought. We are getting through most of the issues and despite this the feedback has been great! Thank you guys for your patience and understanding.

    Hope everyone enjoys!

The drop rates quoted for the nether imply that having NO Fortune gives the best drops? Is that correct?

I'm guessing it's a typo, I thought the same thing. Either we punch the hell out of blocks or suffer.
