Of the items in the Legendary Crate that can be used to generate income, the most expensive and rarest are the Mooshroom spawner and the Sculk catalyst.
The Mooshroom spawner generates a fairly decent, passive income if the spawns are filed past a dispenser with shears and then on to lava for cooking.
The Sculk catalyst however is far from passive as it requires the generation of stone, the death of mobs, the mining of the sculk, the storage and finally the sale of the blocks.
While there is some market for the sculk it is incredibly small and unfortunately it can’t be sold to /shop.

Both the Mooshroom spawner and the Sculk catalyst sell in game for about $10 million each.
The Mooshroom spawner will take about half a year to pay off if it is active 24/7.
The Sculk catalyst most likely won’t pay off ever and given sculk blocks can only be sold to players, every time a Sculk catalyst enters the game it reduces the value of all Sculk catalysts because the supply increases while the small demand does not.

Can Sculk blocks please be made sellable to /shop and /warp shop.
If so, please consider the rarity of the catalysts, the effort required to mine, the cost of the stone and mobs lost in its generation.

Without this, other than for its rarity factor, the value of the Sculk catalyst will plummet to the point that it doesn’t deserve its place in the legendary crate.

This is great however they only drop red mushrooms? I'd personally prefer it better for thy had half red and half brown mushroom cows spawned to be farmed.

Easy support because I recently acquired two catalst blocks at 20mil each. That's 40mil total.
As to farming I think its a unique fun way to try different farm desiangs and think up some new ones. Space and I have built a really cool stonegen that builds into the middle creating a minable platform
This then converts falling mob xp into scull blocks where the new stones generated.
So it's really cool. But the money invested overall for a block that sells under a hundred per stack and rarely sells more than a dc or two a week compared to common pcrop farms or passive spawners, having some way to warp shop or sell the sculk would be great.

It would be good if staff could comment on these suggestions other than as a player. It's been a while since there has been staff input on any suggestions. I realise that we have no active developer but I imagine some of these suggestions could be ruled on and carried out by the existing staff?

    Also, bump!

Pretty difficult for this to happen given that one of the prizes in the legendary crate is 20k...

Yes, but the Catalyst is far rarer which would indicate its worth but I’ve got a fully stocked shop at a decent price but very little sells.
It’s going to take a while for me to make $20,000, let alone the $10-20 million they sell for.

My price isn’t high. There is certainly not a lot of demand for it.

Bumping this for what ever that is worth.
No suggestion post has had any staff feedback in a very long time.

i agree, suggestions should at least have some input from staff.,, eg " weve discussed this suggestion with crew, andwhen a developer is available, they may be submitted " or something idk, any communication with staff is helpful

i still support this suggestion too

This will not change any time soon. Development is 100% third-party now so no suggestion, no bug report or anything else is getting processed by anyone relevant. Posts from staff would only consist of meaningless phrases like "We'll look into it" or "We sent it to Noobcrew". Either Noobcrew himself has to go through those sections to pick something he wants to focus on (which rarely happens) or someone sends things to him directly which he'll then have to process and consider before setting up a document with instructions that he can then submit.

I assume that only very few people here are familiar with game server expansion development in general, game server operators can rarely afford full-time developers so they instead hire someone for either a fix or flexible amount of hours a month or on a per-project basis. This means that there is only very limited development capacity available, that the development process does not necessarily start straight away (queue) and that the communication is generally slow. It for example took around 8 months until the updated challenges system got shipped because of a constant back and forth regarding minor details and related delays.

There is usually zero communication between the volunteers (moderators etc.) and the people that are actually working on the game modes, the only connection/bridge is obviously Noobcrew so there is really no one to blame here. The only reason why development was more transparent and faster for a while was because of a special type of working relationship that ended months ago (late 2023 or early 2024, I don't remember). Basically it's just back to what it used to be and it's unlikely that it'll change again.

Another thing that people are probably not aware of is that the Skyblock.net project improved a lot when it comes to the people that work on it. Every paid position is "filled" (again, all external) with someone that is a professional in their field with years of experience. In the past that wasn't the case. Old mistakes are getting corrected (which is time consuming) and over time the focus will shift more towards the next generation of Skyblock game modes.

Thank you dex for taking your time to respond. This does help to clear a lot up regarding suggestions feedback.

    Hope you're doing well too

I hope so too and I'm doing very well, thanks.

The fact that I currently have the Developer role on here is by the way just a mistake (or bug?) and I requested multiple times that it gets removed because I don't want to be publicly associated with the server at the current time.

Sure, no problem  in general people can also contact me on Discord (same username) if they have any questions however I can't promise that I'll always reply.

Cheers Dex. Perhaps I make a forums suggestion that the server suggestion forums be disabled for the time being as it give's a false indication to the players that their suggestions might be implemented.

My earlier response was brief as I was short of time but it's good to hear that you are doing well Dexuby and the information you gave is appreciated.

While I know that many suggestions are not simple to implement and require code changes, I suspect there are some that can be handled by existing staff, such as this suggestion.
I don't claim to know, but I would have thought that adding a block to the /shop would involve little more than adding an entry into an existing database.
I know that prices of some items have been changed recently and I wouldn't have thought, adding a block and prices wouldn't be much more effort.

And yes, this is a double post, because edits to posts don't trigger alerts to those watching.

Hey, when it comes to changes that don't require code edits (like adding new items to /shop or similar things) it comes down to a similar situation: Either Noobcrew does it himself or he submits a document asking for the change to be implemented. Volunteers can't change anything server related, it's all read-only for them and it makes zero difference if you're a helper or an admin (doesn't apply to actual system administrators), they also have the same influence when it comes to suggestions/changes and new features in general. Usually something as trivial as adding an item to /shop gets done by Noobcrew himself because submitting it would result in massive delays (things have to pile up first) since no one starts working on a 3 minute task in this industry unless they can charge the full hour for it.
