"The rules in their most depth form" is a terrific read. It's very informative. Rules are sometimes added/removed/motified. I think there should be a place where it lists changes to the rules, for quick reference. For example, someone told me that glass blocks are now legal to trade. (Before, it was just glass panes!) I want to make sure they are correct. To check, I have to scroll through the rules until I find that specific change. Example: Changes effective 05/01/14: --Glass blocks are legal to sell/trade --Island selling/trading is illegal Let me know what you think.
Rule 7: Do not island farm Offence Level: High This rule is rarely to ever broken. What is this rule you may ask? It is you are not aloud to make an island, sell/give away the legal items (see rule 7), then make another island, the repeat the process again and again. Why have it illegal? Well, it is a way for a person to get lots of wood, ice, and lava. No one likes illegitimately obtained items. Another variety of island farming, that's rarely broken is the commerce of islands. This could be new islands you've just simply created to sell, or islands that you have worked hard on and decided you would like to get some items from. Island selling is illegal in all circumstances. How it can be legal... No way to be legal, duh. Rule 8: Do not trade illegal-to-trade items Offence Level: Medium The server has lots of illegal items that can't be traded. The list is pretty big, so it can be over whelming. It is best to message a mod or donor if you are unsure if an item is illegal. This is the list and why. (This list is for .net, it is different per server) 1. Dirt (Starter item, you need to vote for more (you get grass blocks)) 2. Sand based items [Sand, Sandstone, Smooth Sandstone, Chiseled Sandstone, Stairs Sandstone, TNT] (Starter item, donate to get a kit to get more) [Glass, Stained Glass, Glass Panes, Stained Glass Panes, and Glass Bottles are allowed on .Net. Only Glass bottles on .Org] They are already in the rules, and there has been no changes.
Krissy, I am talking about having a notification if something does change. This is an ever-evolving community. There will be additions, subtractions and modifications to the rules.
Usually that will be automatically completed in the rules, and if it is major, it will be in the announcements. Nothing will be done in secret
When I first started Skyblock, glass blocks were illegal to trade but glass pane trade was legal. Also, people were selling their islands legally. (You can confirm this with FromLegoUniverse if you'd like) So the rules have been modified. I think that no matter how little or big of a change, there should be a notification on the main page. I could potentially do something "illegal" and not be aware of it because I didn't know about changes to the rules. Nobody is going to reread the rules everyday. A rule change notification would provide better communication between admin and players, leading to less bans.
I made the original rules post (if you remember, I had Cyp take it over like a month after). Cyp added island trading was illegal, but I got the illegal item to trade now legal. Not half bad.
I support this idea. Instead of looking through the entire rules every time there is a change, there would be a changelog that you could click on for a record of all the changes for even the people that have been inactive for a while. Gray Sage. I think you would like to comment on this one.
