Due to recent conversations on the server I have decided to make an anonymous suggestion for a new rule This rule being if a player has bought something to be built on the island in my instance it is a sugarcane farm and has paid a player to build it and paid for the resources so that the player who built It should have no rights to the property or ownership of these items and or builds This is.Because players are stating that because they built it, they own it or that I or other players are not allowed to edit it further upgrade it or change the design. Which I and other players deem is unfair due to this being my island. Which I should be allowed to edit in whichever way I see fit.
There’s realistically no way they can prevent you from changing or messing with the build on your island. It’s on your island so it’s yours to mess with.
it's your island... you can do as you please. don't let other people tell you what you can or can't do with your island where are people getting the idea that they can 'own' something like this? its stupid
If it's your island you own it. Especially if you paid them to build it for you they have no claim to it. There could be a case where you coop someone and build an island together and then decide to kick them from the island and *maybe* staff would get involved? But in the case of paying someone to build something on an island, that's standard practice; you, as the island owner and person paying, are not going to be disputed over ownership of a build.
Personally, if you have paid for someone to build something, and you have said that you would pay them and the supplies. you have every right to change what you have paid for to be made on your island. I do welcome people taking credit for making something, for example casinos, You could give a thank you to the player who made it, but. They wouldn't be able to stop you from changing it to whatever you want to do with it. Only reason I see such a thing happening is if you agreed before hand that you wouldn't try editing it etc.
There doesn’t need to be a rule, if you pay someone to build something on your island you still have complete ownership, this is pretty straightforward. If you are experiencing some kind of issue then it’s best to contact staff via Discord.
The player is currently not trusted on my island but yes I did agree over a year ago that I would not take it down but that was a year ago and I did not see my island progressing past that but as of now I would like to improve on the design to make it actually useful for my island whereas this player is saying I cannot edit the build I could not take it down and I can't cover it up and this player is saying this to multiple of the members on the server about the builds they have built on players islands. All I needed is to clarify that I own 100% right to things on my island and that other players have no power over what I make on my own It was more to see if the community agreed that I would have 100% right rather than suggesting a rule unless that was needed to basically say players own 100% rights to everything on their island
Perhaps they are trying to say that the build is set up in some sort of way where, if you mess with it, e.g red stone, it will not work anymore. So don’t be surprised if when you tamper with the contraption that it stops working, and don’t expect a refund or anything. But it’s your own island, of course you can do whatever you want, there is no need to ask anyone for permission.
Sorry if this sounds rude but I’m confused why you suggested this rule at all as opposed to just asking if you could edit your own island or not - player builds something on your island that you paid them to do, both agree you won’t edit it - you want to edit the build a year later - suggests rule to make it so you can’t edit it?? self sabotage??
bro no matter what the player cannot do anything if you edit it. You have the right to do as you wish and they cannot take any action against you if you remove it, improve it or build it into a glow squid exhibit. It's your island, you have the freedom to do anything you want
They should make it so it's more clear that I can edit it. I never said suggest a rule so I can't edit it. Please read before commenting thank you.
Point is, there doesn’t need to be a rule saying that someone does or doesn’t own something on your own island. That’s ridiculous.
It's your island so you do as you please on it. Don't let other players dictate what you do and don't do on your own island.
