As you can see by the title of this post, here is my suggestion! When a trident is thrown (and lands in the void), it currently gets lost forever. It would be very cool if tridents enchanted with 'loyalty' will be returned to you upon being lost in the void. So essentially: When the trident is thrown, the server begins tracking it's position every certain number of ticks (to reduce lag) or calculates the trajectory to see if the trident will land in the void. When the trident's Y value is in the void (below -64 Y) or the trident is predicted to land there and is enchanted with 'loyalty', the trident entity will be removed The player will then be given the trident item back & will be notified in chat that their trident has been returned.
This is a really cool suggestion! It makes sense, as compensates for the one thing you don't have to deal with in regular Minecraft-the void. Additionally, given the rarity of tridents, it also allows for use of them, without the worry that it might fall into the void. Saving the player from having to always use it over land, for fear of losing it. Support! Hope this gets implemented!
This would be cool, but you could also just not let your temptation win, but who wants that to happen
Yeah, understandable. Would definitely be more useful for when you trident misses (and falls into the void which prevents it from ever returning). Is definitely a skyblock-only issue
Please... I am very scared of losing my trident. It would be a great idea because sky block islands are open and thus it's very easy to lose.
Would be very cool if the 9 tridents I tossed in the void would one day randomly come flying back to me
