Title says it all. I don't know why this is a thing, but you can rate a suggestion agree instead of support and disagree instead of no support.
EDIT: for clarification, only on the first post, and remove informative as well.
feedback is appreciated, maybe I'm missing something.
    Thanks for reading

I thought you meant on all posts not just the first. Support for the first post. No support for any after that.

Oops, read the title wrong. Support since you should mainly have support, neutral and no support.
    Agreed, no need for informative.

Yeah, I'd agree. However, I'd argue that sometimes there is a need for the agree on the original post - as some suggestions can be more like statements encouraging discussion around a point, rather than a specific thought out improvement.

    I'm going neutral on this.

Togpuss any feedback on the no support?
Fair point, IMO those suggestions should be kept out of that forum category.

Sorry for the late reply. I originally read the thread and assumed this was for all posts rather than just the first post. Now that you have made that clear, I have changed to neutral.

As Blyx stated above, there is sometimes need for a disagree, agree, or informative rating on the first post. This could be for a strong point or statement, an issue that has not been looked deeply into, etc.

Because it would make sense that they never built in a function in the staff control panel that could disable things like this, they would have to do it manually.

why would doing it manually be hard? it’s probably built into the gui just not the staff controls

It really is. AdminCP would easily be able to disable these reactions within the subforum.

I see your point. Suggestions should either be supported, or no supported. (Personally don't think neutral should be a rating but..)

Rating agree onn replies, sure. However if the thread itself is more discussion based then it's not in the right category. A suggestion should be somewhat well thought out before being suggested.

    Hi moearnings!
I took a look into your suggestion and did consider it, however I went to see what I could do to see if this was actually possible. Unfortunately we can restrict a rating to only the first post or to allow it throughout, but we cannot do the same for restricting it for all posts except the original thread post. I totally see what you mean about the agree and disagree rating, however it isn't entirely bad and there can be some reasons for a person wanting to agree or disagree to the first post. (If you really don't want people to use those ratings you may always add a side-note at the bottom requesting for people to use the correct ratings, most likely people will listen but then again if they don't it's not a huge problem). Hopefully this is a suitable answer, if not please reply back! :)
