So in the public chat, people are spamming Adverts for shops and skin competitions and such, I suggest
that there be a chat mode that can be utilized for this purpose. The advertisement of personal shops and
related events.

This is an excellent idea. A great deal of spam I see has to do with the advertising of shops.

I think it would be a great idea, but also keep in mind moderators still will have to moderate that chat as well. Do you think that it would cause any issues with that?

 

I think that could be a potential issue too. Also, people would just be advertsing to other people who are advertising. While the chat spam is annoying, This sort of defeats the purpose of advertising shops in the first place

 

Full mods and up also have to moderate private messages as well, I personally think it would too much of a task to do.

Not everyone will obey the rules to this and would like to spam both chats. Also if you want to advertise, many people would be advertising their shop(s) too.

This would reduce the legal advertising spam, but it could be a bit of a hassle. As stated above moderators would have to moderate 2 chats. Not to mention their chat already moved 2 times quicker then the normal player, I think this would be too difficult to handle.

Would probably create spam in the other chat as well which isn't good and moderators would have to moderate both chats, not to mention they are (may or may not) be spammed with /msgs and full moderators and up have social spy. ;/

 

In my opinion moderating two chats, with twice the spam on one would be a bit too hectic.
Perhaps a plugin on where you can't repeat similar messages in a short period of time?

This would definitely reduce the amount of spam, but it could be quite difficult for mods, as they have to monitor 2 chats instead of 1. Seems like a pretty good idea though.
