Hey guys! Have you ever wished your island was more 'natural' or a different biome? Skyblock can get claustrophobic very quickly. I'm new here and new to skyblock and decided to make my first 'real' post. There doesn't seem to be a folder for island builds or projects so I thought I better post this in off-topic. Since I can't invite everyone to my island and in fact, for safety sake probably better not lol, I thought I'd do a post here of my Jungle Island Home build for friends I'd like to show it too. This seems the easiest way. :)

I've seen some amazing island builds since I joined you guys in December!! Purplevillager1 and Potassium's friend Shade--really stunning work! So I'm used to creative building and am just now starting the house. It hit me somewhere a long the way that skyblock would be more fun if I made my own biome to build my house on... and this was the result.

Purple was a regular visitor at the beginning (mid Dec.) along with Titian83 and both of them and kltnotblt helped me so much when I was getting started! Thank you!

Our island - Day 1 lol

First house, tree farm, mob farms, animal pen, chicken farms etc.
    Cobble stone generator below this.
So Tim (my husband) and I used the first island to build mob farms, tree farms etc... and one tiny little throw together house in case something 'spawned'. He was nervous about that. But what I wanted to do most was build a pretty house. So I started a new level with no plan at all. That meant we needed tons of cobble. So I voted like crazy and also worked for other skygods (after I donated) to earn diamonds to buy more cobble. Haha!

Purple and Titian and Potassium (Klt), helped me sometimes with that slow task. Building 2 99x 99 platforms was really boring! haha! Other people donated cobble too and I am so grateful but can't remember your names.
[IMG] Titian83 built me two fabulous mob farms and I was so grateful as we needed the bones, and string in particular.

Purplevillager started breaking out and building the 3-d aspect of the river bed. You can see our first foundation made of cobble below. The 2nd level I made of stone brick.

I drew out the design for the river bed because I wanted my house to be in a jungle/river biome. Purple drew out the other side of the river and then we started knocking out the foundation and building the river bed below. I love making curves and had lots of practice with that so in some ways I think the river is the best part of my build so far. She and I had a fun time building the mountain.. her on the left--me on the right and then she placed the waterfall for me.

It wasn't too long into this that Purple convinced me to pay for /fly as it's hard to 'draw' a massive curve without fly on a 1000 block island. So never assume a 'greenbean' isn't a donator haha! I paid 20 the 2nd week and still had a green name. Fly was very helpful with the river part of this build.

Then came the very long process of covering the entire island with green wool as grass is obviously too expensive. I made a few shrewd trades of diamonds (which I earned or voted for and a couple of people donated) for stacks of grass that helped me line almost the entire river bed so I could grow things. Purple covered the stone foundation with probably 20 jungle trees  . I had the dirt but she had the saplings.. and thanks to Titian83 I had lots of bones to grow stuff with.

Trying to get the water 'still'.. wished for //fixwater so badly! lol
Filling it in with water was a really slow process. Tim, Klt, and Purple all helped me with ice block donations and placing water. It takes a LONG time to fill in that much water and get it still. lol Potassium (klt) had the idea of placing stone in a checkerboard pattern. My husband  laboriously filled in the big part of the river (sort of a pond) at the base of the waterfall on the mountain that Purple and I built.

Used dirt to line the river bed for growing bits of things.

Terraforming with grass, leaves, logs and green wool. (left)

Ultimately I wanted to do terraforming so I used leaf blocks and bits of grass and dirt and logs to make it look as jungle-ish as possible. I also started growing other kinds of trees to fill in.. Acacia, Oak and even some Dark Oak trees which take four saplings just to grow. I don't remember now who generously donated those as I paid 10 grass for the first sapling then realized that was useless and couldn't afford the 40 grass total it would take to get four. Thank you!! (admins or skygods). Maybe Pledgefree? :) I have a sheep pen on the upper story and went through 2-3 pairs of enchanted shears just shearing sheep! Thank you all you skygods and mods who enchanted shears and axes for me. Cooked a lot of cactus with my 3 pieces of sand. 0.0 Thank goodness cactus grows fast. lol

    House in progress

Anyways, Potassium has been my most faithful helper, constantly coming by to check on things and donated quite a bit of wood to add to my wood production efforts below so I could start the house. I still need to do lots of terraforming so in my opinion the island has a long way to go, but I decided to work on the house some more first.

Bird's eye view of island with the whole river.

I plan for it to be several stories tall.. at least 2 maybe three. Hope you enjoyed this little 'post' on the development of a jungle biome and that it helps you if you are doing biome recreation. It's a lot of fun! :) Thanks Purplevillager1 for the initial brainstorming help and Titian for the income producers (mob farms) and Potassium for becoming my first and regular friend and helper. It's fun hanging out together!

Thanks to everyone who donated anything to me. So many friendly people on skyblock! Mods you do a great job too! Thanks to all mods and skygods and anyone who helped! Grace, Krissy, Dew especially :) (Congratz Noveh and Chesh!)

If I ever get enough time, which as a mom, homemaker, and web administrator I don't get much, I plan to try some other biomes too. Just depends on how many levels I can make. Haha!

That would be awesome Purple. You're an amazing builder! You should give tours of your place... or do a post like me. :) Maybe we could start a new category. Awesome islands.. or something like that. :)
