Question on rules [all mods]

    Hi everyone,

    Recently there have been some controversial arguments coming from the staff and users alike.

    Yesterday, I saw in chat that someone was doing something illegal by taking over a forgotten island next to them. krissy_punk said that it was illegal and she would watch them closely from now on with the user getting very rude. Anyway, I then asked krissy if buying a second island was legal if nothing illegal to trade was on it, to the reply of no. My next question was, what if it were bought before it was illegal to? Again to a no. Before hand I asked Darkstar to remove a lockette on said island and he asked if it was mine, to my reply being it is not my main island, but I bought it off the owner who since has gone inactive forever so he can never /island replace and delete it. Darkstar said it was ok.

    Now I am confused, 2 very reliable mods have said 2 totally opposite things. I ask all other mods and especially super mods to finallise a decision on my island.

    It was bought when it was legal to
    It was bought without any illegal to trade or starter items
    I have been using it to rent out to people

    I look forward to seeing the views of all mods to finally reach a decision.
    P.s if the decision is that I have to give it up, I would like my payment back of 20 diamonds.
    P.s.s in similar situations, I have seen objects bought before they were illegal, and now that they are, are still being kept.

    I have heard it is legal to take the island next to you if
    A. The owner gave you permission
    B. No illegal to trade items
    C. The owner is now inactive and will never accuse you of griefing.

    Island commerce is illegal, but if you bought it before it was made illegal then fine, there's nothing we can do.
    You are not allowed to just take abandoned islands. This is about safety for you.
    There was a seemingly inactive island next to mine. But months later they came back and bridged and griefed me.
    Then again they came back after 2 months and griefed me again.
    You have no clue if the person will come back. Often they will reset their islands and you will lose a lot.
    If you take the neighbouring island it can be considered bridging. You are only permitted to build in your given space (unless given permission to build on another island).
    If the island owner of the neighbouring island gives you permission to build then it's ok. You cannot pay for the island but as long as you keep proof of permission. Of course if they reset for some reason, that's a risk you took.

    In short
    No island commerce
    No taking over neighbouring abandoned islands
    Must have permission to build on the island
    Remember the bridging rule (cannot try connect your islands
    Build only in your own space (requires permission to do)

    And proof of cyps view
