I purchased the Piki Studios original Skyblock map and was so happy to find it! im playing on bedrock if that matters my only issue is it starts you out with a block of ice and a bucket of lava. So how do you get a second source of water so I can make an infinite water source. I can find any more water anywhere? also second issue is I put the map on my rhelms server and a friend joined it didn’t give them an island just spawned them in my island which seems to have bugged the challenges. is there a way to reset the challenges so I can actually complete them now? Or do we just have to start the whole island over and not have anyone else join me. That would be very frustrating because I’ve played quite a while on my island. anyway I guess the bigger more serious issue is only starting with a bucket of lava and an ice block. How am I supposed to get more water? I can’t make an infinite supply of water without two water sources to put them together in a 2 x 2 so I can have infinite water if you could please tell me how to obtain another water that would be great thank you
The singleplayer skyblock map is designed for just one player. I'm not that familiar with bedrock but if you decide you want to play with others you will have to share the same island. To get another water source, there's a small island a little bit away from your starting island. You will need a bunch of blocks to bridge over and obtain it
Thanks for your response! The small island you’re talking about is that the sand Island with a cactus and a chest? I don’t think it had water in that chest. All that was in the chest was a melon some pumpkin seeds I think is it a different small island somewhere? thank you very much for your help
Sorry I misremembered, it should be in the chest next to your portal when you enter the nether. See if it's there
Ah I remember that is right. The chest on the sand island did have 10 obsidian blocks so I can make the frame for the portal but with no iron or flint to make a flint and Steel how do I ignite the portal?? Sorry for all the newbie questions but I appreciate your help very much
Your lava may be able to light nearby blocks. Place planks adjacent to the portal with lava close enough to ignite it.
Ok I actually figured it out . Was able to light the portal by placing laba and wood blocks by it. Yea there was a chest in there with another ice block! so now I guess my final question would be since the nether was only a small platform of glowing stones where do I find resources like iron etc?? Is there another island somewhere other than the sand one nearby? Or something farther away from the zone in to the nether? Again thanks for any help
Yes thank you this worked. Still have a final question if you don’t mind. In the nether, there was just a small platform of glow stone or whatever where the chest was right when you zone in. So where do I gather other resources is there another island besides the sand and cactus one nearby my starting island I’m not quite sure how I can find iron or inlets or whatever etc. I did get an ice block, a sugar and a birch log sapling in the nether chest so that was good. Thanks for any advice
Nice getting iron is a bit more challenging but there are several ways actually. Zombies rarely drop iron, so you can make a mob farm for them. If you make one, you could also hunt for a zombie villager. You can cure one by having a witch in a boat close to the zombie villager and yourself. The witch will target you, and you have to wait til it throws a potion of weakness, giving the effect to the zombie as well. In the nether you can build platforms to get pigmen to spawn, and obtain gold drops. Use gold ingots and an apple to make a golden apple, this is what you use on the zombie villager right after a potion of weakness is thrown. Once you get a villager, you can do two things: set them up for trading and get ones that sell iron armour or tools, which can be smelted down to nuggets, or set up the villagers for an iron golem grinder (look for tutorials online). Lastly, there is bartering with pigmen, they occasionally give iron nuggets
Ok thanks much for the tips! Got my work cut out for me! is there a better forum thread I can ask questions for this single player bedrock version? Don’t want to bother ya all too much. But there are mobs like pigs cows etc that spawn and seem to just disappear if ingontonthenhun to look at the quest board. Wondering if I should kill em or what since they poor when I leave or log and come back thanks
You're free to ask on these forums whenever! I was an enthusiast of the single player map too, so I'm happy to help. As for passive mobs, you might be able to put them in a boat so they don't despawn, but I've never played bedrock myself
I switched to bedrock so I could play on iPhone iPad laptop I’m used to the older Java version these new bees and things are freaky lol
OK I have what I think is another problem. After many countless hours of work, I got the obsidian out of the chest on the sand Island. Then I just I made a platform around the sand. I decided to put the obsidian in the sand or in the chest on the platform, so I broke the chest and then everything, and then we fell through it all all fell through And died and the obsidian is gone, so does that mean I have to start all over from scratch or is there any way to retrieve that obsidian?
That's not great news... there's theoretically a way to get more, I think with wandering trader and pointed dripstone. Then if you have enough, make a lava dripstone farm with a cauldron. However, this can take a reaaally long time, and starting over might be a much better option. If you do, it's more effective to build a platform a few blocks below the sand island. Make sure no block touches the sand (including the platform) until there's an entire platform to catch it
That’s exactly what I did after starting over lol Just so frustrating but hey it is what it is . Hard lesson to learn Thanks again for your response!
Thank you for your thread on a recent query! It seems like it has now been resolved. This thread has been locked moved to Help Archive.
