My PC was built 4 years ago with random junk thrown in along the way...

    CPU: i7-6700k @ 4.7GHz
    CPU cooler: Corsair H100i v2
    Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO
    Memory: 4 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3200 (32GB)
Storage: 500GB M.2 Samsung SSD, 500GB Samsung SSD, 250GB Samsung SSD, 1TB WD HDD (7200RPM), 4TB Seagate BarraCuda (5900 RPM)
    GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB
    Case: Corsair 750D
    PSU: EVGA 1000W

For context around the storage, the 250GB SSD and the 1TB HDD were from my computer I built 6 years ago. Got the 500GB M.2 3 years ago when I realized how cheap SSDs had become. Bought the 4TB HDD so I could download my entire Steam library (around 3-4TB of games/mods), and then 500GB SSD was given to me by a client who thought the SSD was dead (I reformatted it and it worked fine, the previous owner was about to just throw it away).

Yessir, I get told that any time someone sees my PC build. It was on clearance at Microcenter for cheaper than the 650W I went to get, though, so why not?

    Memory is ram.
    Odd ram amount.
Ah yes the good old trick of storage makers/suppliers maybe a GB is 1000 MB not 10024 MB.

I know memory is RAM, but the command I ran to get the specs gave more information under the memory heading that wasn't really relevant, so I only copied the RAM size info, sorry if that caused some confusion.
As for the odd amount, I think my issue is likely to be similar to the one Brake has suggested, though I'm not running Windows, so I can't use msconfig to see if that fixes it xd

Judging by the number of question marks you have there, I suspect that that is an unusual thing xd
No, I don't run Windows, I am surprisingly pleased that I have managed to create a working computer having spent no money on it, so I didn't want to break that by installing Windows (also I don't have a spare Windows install), so I am running Linux.
Should I then be thinking that everyone else is on Windows? I didn't think it was as all-pervasive as that, but I've been wrong before...

The majority of users, especially among a younger crowd, will be running Windows/MacOS.

You also don't need to spend money (or the full amount) to run Windows. If you have any legal copies of Windows 7, you can upgrade them to Windows 10 for free still (even though Microsoft says they've discontinued the free upgrade). When installing Windows on computers I build for people, I generally buy a 10 pack of Windows 7 licenses ($30-$50), then install those and upgrade to Windows 10.

Alternatively, you can do what I do, which is install a KMS Auto client on the computer, which lets you activate whichever version of Windows you want. The tool lets you keep up to date with the latest Office utilities, as well as Windows versions, without need to ever pay for either.

This seems to have turned into a competition of ‘who has the best PC?’

I'm in the process of building a PC. I'll add more stuff later, like upgrading the RAM, but for now this is it.

Ryzen 5 3600 (I was going to go with the i5-9600k, but I decided to go with the AMD, so it's cheaper and I can have 2 copies of MC running alongside the other game i'm playing without any impact, whereas the intel would slightly reduce frames due to the lack of threads)

    GTX 1660 Super

    16GB Ripjaws RAM

    500GB SSD

    2TD Hard drive

Gonna buy 2x 144hz monitors, gaming chair, and in the future I'll likely spend about 1k on razer and steelseries stuff. Also, better price-performance then Brake any day of the week
