Introduction My name is GangstaPancake, also known as Pancake or Mizzo. I am a regular /skyblock player who used to be very fond of /classic. Over the past couple of years, I have taken a large break from Skyblock but returned a few months ago. I took that time to mature, learn, and focus on school studies. I am applying for a position on Skyblock in hopes to help out the community. I appreciate all your feedback and will take consider everything in regards to becoming a better staff member. Requirements ● Do you have at least 50 posts? ● Yes, I do. ● Do you have 2FA (Two Factor Verification) enabled? ● 2FA is enabled on both my forums and discord ● Has your forums account been registered for 2 weeks? ● My account has been registered for at least 2 weeks. ● Do you have access to discord? ● Yes, I do have access to discord and a working microphone. Information ● Your in-game username: ● My IGN (In-game username) is GangstaPancake ● What timezone are you in? ● My timezone is GMT+8 or AWST (Australian Western Standard Time) ● What country do you live in? ● I am currently located in Australia ● Do you have 2FA enabled? ● Yes, 2FA is enabled on my forums and discord account ● Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? ● Yes, I have access to the following: -=- OBS – Screen Recording Software Minecraft Screen Shots – Screen Capturing (Built-In) ● Why do you think you should become a staff member? ● Although I am not the most well-known player in the community, I have been playing Skyblock.net for most of my life, as crazy as that seems, it has always been a place that I could come and express myself without the fear of being judged or criticised. Skyblock gave me a place to be creative, connect with people all around the globe, interact with others, and build up my social skills. Less of the chit chat, here are a few of the reasons I believe I should become a staff member on Skyblock: Dedicated and committed When it comes to staffing and most other things in my life that I strongly enjoy, I am a very dedicated and committed person. I strive to be as dedicated as I can and never give up until I have achieved my goals. Staffing on skyblock is without a doubt one of my goals. As a staff member, I would aim to be as dedicated to the server as possible, spending most of my free time on it and constantly keeping the community safe. This is a huge trait in a staff member as they have to be willing to put in the time and effort required to fulfill their duties. Outgoing and approachable In both real life and in front of a screen, I try to be as accepting and approachable as possible to all people. I consider myself to be quite a friendly person who is always there when you need it. This is a massive role a staff member must make as it makes the players feel more open to coming to you for assistance. I am always willing to do my very best to help people and keep an open mind in all situations. Australian and active Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi. If there is one thing the staff team is lacking, it is a variety of staff in all different locations. Being an Australian, I am often on when others may not be available. I am also always trying to be as active as I can, if and when I can. Being Australian, I am able to be there to help the people in need as proactively as I can. Mature Maturity is a very controversial trait as people may see themselves as mature but others may not. Personally, I see myself to be a reasonably mature and respectful person who has control over their emotions and the words that come out of their mouths. To my friends and family, I might be seen in differently but when I am in public including being online, I aim to be as mature and appropriate as I can. Being mature is something that every staff member should have as without it they cannot be seen as role models to others which they often are. Honesty If there is one ethically challenging topic, it is lying. Often people are put in the position where they lie to protect themselves, their friends, their family, etc. I am a very honest person and as a staff member, you should always aim to tell the truth 100% of the time and it is an important quality one must inherit. Understanding Often there is more than meets the eye to people and situations. I try to see through that and be as welcoming and understanding to all as I can. You never know how somebody is feeling and what their lives are like outside of the online world and that is why I have learnt to be understanding and respectful as I can. This is an important quality for a staff member as it helps them better apprehend people and situations. Teamwork I see myself to be a very cooperative person who works well with those around me. Working in a team is so important to staff as you need to work together and connect with one another. Communication is another important part of teamwork because you need to be able to properly convey each other. You need the team to make a staff team and without it, it wouldn’t be a team at all. -=- Despite all these reasons, one stands out the most, and that is my love for helping people. 2 or so years ago my mother volunteered to help with a support shelter for homeless people operation. I went along to a few of the meetings and that truly opened my eyes. The sheer overwhelming situation of homelessness bought tears to my eyes and since then helping people has been what I aim to do. ● How active can you be daily? ● I always strive to be on for a minimum of an hour each day. Here is an approximate schedule: -=- Monday – Up to 4+ hours Tuesday – Up to 4+ hours Wednesday – Up to 4+ hours Thursday – Up to 5+ hours Friday – Up to 5+ hours Saturday – Up to 6+ hours Sunday – Up to 6+ hours -=- Please note: These are only approximate hours and often they may change due to personal reasons such as family commitments, homework, holidays, etc. The times could be less or more than promised. ● How long have you been playing skyblock? ● Originally, I played on my older sister's account in 2014 and then migrated to this account in 2016. I have been playing for upwards of 6 years with a few breaks here and there. ● Have you ever been banned in the past (Forums & In-game)? ● I have never been banned/muted on neither the forums nor in-game. ● Do you have any previous moderation experience? ● I have taken up many positions on many servers. I have held the responsibility of roles such as helper, moderator, administrator, manager, and once owner. I have never moderated a larger sized server such as this one but have experience in basic commands such as, /warn, /mute, /tempmute, /tempban, /ban, etc. I have also learnt how to use them and have a pretty good idea of when it is appropriate to use them. None of these servers are online anymore due to a variety of different reasons however throughout the few years of experience, I have learnt and gained a lot. I've also worked on a few larger sized discord and used to moderate/help on one that now has over 28,000 members on it. However, i have retired from working on any servers including discord to focus my attention on the lovely skyblock community! ● Do you meet the requirements for staff? ● Yes, as stated at the beginning of my staff application, I meet all the requirements for the Skyblock staff team. -=- I would like to end my application by thanking every single one of you who have taken the time to thoroughly read my application. I hope after reading this you see me as an appropriate staff team who will benefit the server. I appreciate all and every comment and piece of feedback I get. Thanks a million!
I think you only started using the forums again yesterday if I'm not mistaken. I'm not that familiar with who you are and I've never really seen you in-game before or on other platforms. I will not be supporting as of now but I'll look out for you.
I'm going with neutral leaning to support. I've seen ya in game quite often but I would like to see you help more and maybe be more active on forums and discord. Good luck
Thanks for the information! I will be beginning to become more active on the forums. Thanks, I will be trying to stay more active on both discord and forums as of today.
I will be going to go with no support at the moment. I haven’t seen you very Forums and Discord active. I’ve seen a bit of posts from you but not much community engagement. I have seen you on Survival though but not helping as much. Though I’m not always on Survival, I cannot judge equally on your activity there. Following to my next point is I don’t see you on Economy at all. As all staff should be global, you should also be active there. I’m not sure if it’s hard or different for you but as a staff member, you’ll need to adjust yourself into different environments to help out. I will be changing my supporting status when I see some changes and some more activity improvement. Take care, Boba!
Hiya pancake! I'll have to go with neutral for now. As a moderator you will be moderating not only in-game but also forums and discord. I don't really recall seeing you around here on forums and discord until the past few days. However within these times that I had interacted w/ you, you seem to be someone who is super approachable and friendly! My support status will change once I see more engagement from you on these platforms. Other than that, I don't really have any concerns heh, you seem to be a great person! All the best pancake
Really appreciate the advice. I will admit I probably jumped the gun a bit here and should have hung around on the forums and discord a bit longer. I will be sure to explore economy some more as well. Thanks! Completely agree, will stay as active as possible.
I’m going with a neutral for now, most of the reasons have been stated previously. Best of luck! I’ll come back in the future and rethink my decision.
One thing I would like to add is I think you've been posting a bit excessively. I got around 6-8 alerts with your name and checking recent posts, I see 13 posts with you being the recent poster. Just an advice to slow down on the posting.
thanks Justin! haha, getting a bit carried away. There is much to explore on the forums and I’m enjoying it. Will slow down my posting, sorry for the inconvenience! Thanks a tonne for the advice.
Neutral. If you just came back you should be relearning the server and getting back into the game. Besides, who knows you won't just leave for another 2 years? After you've gotten back into the server, maybe in about half a year I'll consider supporting. I just think you applied a little too early after coming back.
This is the first time I have seen you on any platform, you are gonna need to be more active to get a support from me. Although in game is probably because I mainly play on economy, but you gotta be on discord and forums and some economy as well. Best of luck!
Thanks, I’ll be a lot more active on discord and forums. I have been back for a few months now, I understand your worries. I originally left due to some IRL things and when classic transitioned to survival Thank you! I believe that I display these traits in my everyday life not only online. I see myself to be honest and not so long ago on a different server I was put in a tough situation. One of my mates had broken the rules and he complained when he was punished, he used me as a coverup and said that I could prove this punishment false. As much as he was my friend, I knew it was ethical and the right thing to do telling the truth, so that’s what I did. if you would like some more information on me feel free to contact me on the forums or on discord @ Mizzo#3189 Not quite sure about this one, I’m often on ingame. I am boosting my activity on the forums and discord. Thanks, this is most likely due to timezones and servers. I have originally stayed away from economy but have decided to jump on every known again. I would see myself to be quite active ingame and I see major development of my discord and forums activity
I'm going with neutral for now! I've been seeing you online loads recently which is amazing, been nice getting to know you. My only advice and feedback would be sticking around for a bit, a lot of your neutrals/no support are due to people not being used to seeing you around, they need to get to know you a little more. I think, give it a few weeks to know and see the community and you'll notice some people starting to change their supports...it takes time and dedication. Good luck!!
Hi pancake, i'm going no support for now because I don't see you helping in game very much. You're also not very active on discord and forums. As a staff member you need to be active on all platforms, good luck.
Thanks for the advice! I’m often helping out ingame where I can I’m not sure if this might be due to timezones however I am striving to become as active as I can on both the forums and discord as well I believe this is due to timezones as well as I also haven’t seen you on much. Usually I do try help out in chat as much as possible. Thank you!
