    Firstly Ik broadcasts have been recommended a countless amount of times.

    I think we really need broadcasts telling players to do /ch to speak in global chat... I have noticed over my time of moderating the server majority of new players login on, try to speak, get ignored and they quit. This is actually quite common and sometimes people who have been playing for over a month didn't even know there was a global chat.

    also maybe default making their channel global if possible? that would help a tonne
    I remember misty had to tell me how to swap channels when i first joined org

    Ill add that in
    EDIT: The reason why the default channel is on local is because some people just join he server to advertise and it lessons the spam for the players in global chat. That is the reason why you start off in local chat when you first join.

    I guess but if you join at spawn then that wouldn't be too much an issue with the spawn protection.

    I guess so but ppl still forget about the chats so a broadcast would be more affective :p

    I agree, usually I message them as soon as they join, welcoming them and telling hem to /ch to join global. I know I have saved at least a dozen members from frustration via message.
    If you see a new member, message them!! It means a lot when you are new to the area :)
