Plain and simple, I think we should add some sort of acknowledgement that there is a lottery plugin on org to the broadcast. We could have it say type /lot for lottery info, type /lot buy to buy a lottery ticket, whatever works. The plugin was used a lot when it was first added, but slowly declined to the point where most people forgot about it. Almost every lottery has a pot under $1,000 now. Adding it to the broadcast would remind people that there is, in fact, a lottery plugin on org, and perhaps get players to use it more. Tell me what you think
Well when you log in it says "Lottery in *time*", I'd say that's a pretty good indicator that there's a lottery plugin, and there aren't many possible options for a command, /lottery, /lot, I figured it out pretty easily, I think most players would, I guess it would "help", but it would just add more spam to the chat as there's already enough announcements, seeing as 20 .org players usually on, 6-7 are in the lottery usually, I wouldn't really say it's been forgotten, also Fizz, I don't see you on much, that might be why you think it's forgotten when you do go on, less players= less lottery ticket buyers.
That little message that pops up when you first join is extremely easy to miss. Adding it to the broadcast reel wouldn't be any more spammy than the broadcast already is, because there would still be the same interval between messages. And I never said it was completely forgotten, just that some players may have forgotten about it. These are the most recent lottery winners: As you can see, there were no pots over 1k. I'm not expecting much, just maybe get the average pot over 1k and maybe get to 2-3k. This wouldn't make a huge difference, but it might help a little bit. Thanks for your input
Some people know about the lottery, they just don't want to enter it, a couple days ago I saw a few 2-4k lottery ticket winners.
The goal is to get more people to buy tickets, and honestly, how much spam does people buying tickets create? Virtually none.
Yes and no, Yes because the fun comes when the pot becomes bigger, and more people but tickets. No because spam, think about the times when there are only 2-5 players and that spam will get too much. Also when one player buys lotto, others then buy it, which already broadcasts. Plus when you log in it tells you how long there is till the lottery draw, so another reminder of the plugin. So I don't feel a constant broadcast is needed.
I don't think people forgot about it, I think they just aren't interested. I heard that in the first couple days, people won up and over 10k, now 2-3k is a big pot. I think people just don't like the lottery :/
