Most automatic farms are almost considered useless because of the amount of time it takes to make any profit off of them. My example will be a cactus farm. This is based of taking 18 minutes for a cactus to grow one block but I don't know if the skyblock server increased the tick-speed. One sand block costs 1.5K which on it's own is insane. now we're going to do a bit of math so bear with me. there's 1440 minutes in a day divide that by 18 you would get 80 cacti if you AFKed the entire day (assuming you have a beacon with regeneration so you don't die while AFK) sell them all that's only 13.60 dollars a day! it would take just over 110 days of straight AFKing to pay off just the sand. I understand that the price for sand needs to be high because it's easy to use it for automatic farms, but 110 days to pay it of? that's ridiculous! one of two things needs to happen with this. either everything that grows on sand (cactus and sugar cane I don't know if there's more) selling prices on those need to go up, or sand needs to be cheaper. I understand they don't want the server to be all AFK but with certain things to be this expensive and that useless that's insane!
Then don’t use cactus farms for profit. Why should we reward people for standing around AFK? You choose to grow and sell things that need sand knowing the price.
The point isn't to stay AFK all the time the point is so you can make money while you aren't playing and while you are playing. The point is to experiment to see what works. The point is to create new creations to make things easier. I don't see why they make certain farms near impossible to work. With almost no Automatic farms working (As in you can be doing something else while it works not necessarily just being AFK) it makes it hard to get money for materials you are going to be using while building. I understand why they don't want ALL these Automatic farms but it also makes some people not want to play because you have to have fun building and being bored earning money seperatly. Why not have all fun, after all the point of a video game is to have fun why make it the way it is where you have to have fun by being bored and grinding first? One last point if you are still with me. If you said don't use cactus farms because they are hard to make a profit then why is there even sand in the shop? For building? If it was just for building it shouldn't cost 1.5K. The only purpose of having sand in the shop at the moment is to trick people into making cactus and/or sugar cane farms
