The conflict is to be expected though. She could have just simply asked a moderator if there were guides in place detailing how to perform this action, like she said the purpose of this thread was for. Since the answer was that yes, there are guides in place, she could have easily made a thread in the proper section suggesting that this should be mandatory if it isn't already.

Instead, she just assumes that the majority of us don't know how click that silly little box and actually makes a tutorial instructing us on how to do, even when the box's purpose is relatively self-explanatory. The whole tone of every response has felt like she's been telling the staff team what to do, rather than ideally what it should do.

What was claimed to be initially phrased as a "question" turned into her calling a moderator sad and his way of thinking laughable.

By the way, I completely understand where she, you, and others are coming from. Moderators ought to be using the alert/report handled correctly, as it's their job to make the forums a more enjoyable experience for everyone. :)

It's just such a simple little thing.
All this commotion is funny tbh. I shouldn't have to message a mod and who would I message anyway? I had made like 5 reports and it's not just the reports from today. It's every report I make. I might get notified 2/10 reports. That's horrible numbers. Are you saying I should make a pm with all the staff and ask them to do this? Or make a "suggestion" thread telling them I'd like them to add this to their repertoire? It should have been a part of their training if what Krissy says is true.

Either way it wasn't such a big deal that I thought to make a fuss over. I honestly just assumed no one ever showed them. Anyway glad to see a little help gets so much commotion here.

Would absolutely love if more moderators would do this.

If you send a claim as a user or a customer, it is utterly natural to want to know whether you claim has been handled. I totally agree with pile on this. I'm surprised how some mods experience difficulties to relate to the lambda user. If you submit a claim to a manufacturer, you will eventually be informed is has been handled. When you file a report to the police, you will at some point get an information from the court that the case is being handled.
On the forums, if the users make the effort to report posts that brake rules, helping out the mods, it is the basics of politeness to tell them "thank you, it has been taken care of". Not doing so is being condescending and disrespectful to the normal users, whether it is voluntary or not.

Reporting comments needs to be seen as helping out, not something a player should be punished for, as I have been. I took it upon myself to try and get a couple threads cleaned up but I guess I did it wrong initially, and got warned for it. However, it is frustrating when you don't get notifications for how reported comments have been resolved. It is even more frustrating because you never know who it was who took care of your report as the mods' names are never included...but again, at least it shows who did what from the mods' end.
It would be nice if all mods sent notifications after dealing with reports, that is for sure, particularly when a mod has decided not to delete a comment that a player thinks broke a forum rule. I just want to add that the addition of the mod's name would be nice, as well.

Exactly. It wasn't polite. Its like me going to the MV staff and asking if thats the way they were trained after complaining that staff don't do things that I think they should like... for example... better chat moderation.

Nothing I said was rude and I even said thanks but thats fine, i'm not going to get pissy over negative ratings.
I'm defending my staff team the exact same way that was done against me when I pointed the mv teams flaws. We have super mods for a reason and a forums admin for a reason. Contact us if theres something you think the team should be doing. But don't come take jabs at a tmod because they have an opinion and there is no need to question their training either.
I stand by the staff team. They have been told to use the report notification such as what i have done for well over two years here. They have been taught it exists.
Much like any other good team member does. We as staff get where you are coming from as Sakura stated. However we dislike how this issue has been addressed. Staff can take it from here.
    Thank-you mind exactly right.

Out of habit, I recall usually checking the box regardless. From what I was told over a year ago, it was optional whether we checked it or not. I think it would be quite nice for players to see if their report was handled.

Look at how touchy some get when spoken to in the same manner that they speak to others.
Pile, I made a suggestion about making notifications regarding reported comments, mandatory, but it didn't get very far so I'm glad you made this thread.

Why are people having a fit about checking a box, Personally I report quite alot of threads or comments on mineverse, and Its really handy knowing If a staff member has accepted your report and has made change or If they haven't It helps you learn what you should promote and what you shouldn't, and Its not exactly a hassle, Im sorry If you're to busy to check a box,

    Thanks for your post, Pile.

As it stands, there is no requirement for staff members to do such a thing, as the majority of the reports by definition feedback the reporter in some fashion (Eg. Requesting a thread be moved or reopened).

However, I will move this thread to the appropriate section for Cyp and the Forum Admin's kind consideration.

It wasn't a suggestion. Please kindly move it back.
I was having a discussion on the matter.

I've messaged you since Monday and you've ignored me. So no. I won't be messaging you privately. Secondly I had no idea me showing staff how to check a box was going to become such a controversy. I honestly don't understand how everything is an attack on you and the staff in your eyes.

    lol they removed my post

Most of the mods get angry when you try giving them feedback / suggestions / criticism, to further prove my point a moderator is currently editing and deleting this post

Ps if you remove OR EDIT the post I'll report you
PPS one more time and I'm reporting you

Regarding to this thread, I never notified any player when I was apart of staff. There's literally no point other than satisfaction within the person reporting. HOWEVER, you always have your side of the forums Pile :D

And thank you for wasting Skyblock's time with a pointless suggestion.

Obviously, there is something very wrong, here. You don't need to be causing flame on her thread, belittle her thoughts or be rude to her supporters. Look at the ratings mods have given various posts, I think that is unprofessional and causes flame, tbh.
