    I made a farm of pumpkin and melon (together) and nothing has grown, even when I used bonemeal. Like I know that the stem thing will produce melon/pumpkin blocks, but in this case, nothing happened. Which leads me to possible problems:

    1. No space, tree farm near it.
    2. Cobblestone in which the blocks will go on top of
    3. It just doesn't grow.

    Let . be melon/pumpkin, ~ be water, and | tree farm and 0 be cobble

    Design:

    ||||0.~
    ||||0.~

    So what's the problem?
    And if I need to redesign, what should it look like?(only have 9 dirt, so)
    And if I just have to move the tree farm, will it fix the problem?

    I think it has to go on top of dirt.

    You need a dirt block next to where the melon/pumpkin seeds will grow. The melons/pumpkins can only grow on dirt, not cobble or anything else. :p From what I understand from the little diagram, theyre next to cobble right now? If you replace the cobble with dirt, they should grow just fine. c:

    The pumpkins/melons grow on cobble. They need to have dirt next to them, like the picture below.

    you have to have a dirt block under the seeds and the place where the melon/pumpkin will grow. I'm not sure whether water is needed.

    Also, to make it grow faster place a light source next/near to it. Eg: (Torches, Glowstone block, lava)

    Thanks guys!
    I ran out of dirt however, unless I could use some grass blocks or something.

    Grass blocks would work just fine as well. :)

    I am poor atm, I used 22 grass blocks for 37 vote keys (kind of worth), so I have like 11?

    Just make sure that with whatever grass you have (if you want to use it for melons/pumpkins) have it set up like CoolCreeper's diagram.
