As I was logging on today to the skyblock.org server I was not put on my island as usual, but rather I found myself in the spawn area. When typing the /home command I got the response that I had no island: "You do not have an island.". What was going on?! After the first shock I went ahead and did some research on the skyblock forums. And from what I've read here, there could be two reasons for a missing island. First seems to be an issue with the 1.8 update in relation to a bug in the island protection system. If this is the reason seemingly all I have to do is sit, wait and hope that the issue gets fixed. But since the update was some time ago, unfortunately the second, more severe reason seems more likely. That is the inactive-island-deletion behavior of the server (or the owners); While I was voting as good as every day for almost a year now, I lately had not the time to work much on my island. Although I was logging in daily, to check that my balance got updated for voting, Id did no block-placing or chest-updating. - I know, I am the worst player, how could I? - But when I logged on yesterday everything was fine. No warning no nothing. How was I supposed to know?! But wait! Nonetheless I'm a bit confused. As CypriotMerks stated in this post there is a purging going on for players who were not logging on for 6 months, and as I stated above, I was logging on every single day. Should there be hope? I know that all these are just virtual and imagined goods, and surely I had not as much wealth as some other players. (Well at least I had one spawner!) However I was spending a considerable amount of time in gathering the goods and bidding or trading for all the items I owned and in building and dressing up my island. And for sure it was not abandoned at all. Maybe someone more knowledgeable on the going-ons could shed some light on the issue. Thanks for reading.
From what I understand .org is going to be reset and players cannot access their islands. (From what I've read)
Well, either your island was purged or you are no longer to access it. Org is currently in a state of being reset, players are only able to access their island via warps and griefing/pvp has been enabled. At this time, there really is no use in trying to pursue something like this since it will all be reset very soon.
The skyblock.org server has now been reset. All of the islands were cleared as it's a fresh start. So I'm going to lock and archive this thread now. But yes, at the time of this thread being posted, because of the impending reset, a lot of things were falling apart on org as they were not being tended to.
