Technically unless the word is used in a tasteless and inconsiderate manner then it becomes a punishable offense. In general there is nothing wrong with people saying the word such as how you did in that statement. However... Lee's reply doesn't match the rest of the situation, so it's probably taken out of context. Wonder what happened before that.

Honestly with all due respect, how is censoring gay and lesbian bad? You're just expressing your belief. I can say, "I believe Allah" or "I am transgender". I call people gay all the time, AND I'm not being rude at all towards them. However, what Krissy said earlier, if it's used in a mean way, yes it's punishable.
I agree with you, gay shouldn't be censored. But Lee did the right thing in this situation. He warned you to stop and you didn't. Lee isn't homophobic, he's just following Cyp's guidelines, and Cyp says to punish people for filter evading any words in the filter, gay is in the filter so he has to punish for it. I understand that you were just trying to make a point, but causing a huge fuss and breaking rules won't help the situation. Try to make a suggestion with multiple points regarding your point of view on the situation and I'm sure it will be resolved some time in the future. TL;DR: Lee did the right thing in this situation and there is no need to make a fuss out of this.
I know there's a suggestion. Maybe Cyp just wants more evidence to support their point of view to implement what we're trying to change.
How are we gonna get more evidence, if we already have a lot of people requesting this change? If we just post a screenshot of someone saying gay in chat, that is meant to be a joke or to express yourself in a sentence, it might look like its being offensive, in cyp's eyes.
