I am Suggesting that Mods SHOULD NOT be able to unban their friends and ban people who they've had recent fights with because this leads to bias appeals. With the appeals they should ban them and pick another Mod to handle the ban so there is no bias in the appeal.
It really does, check appeals, most of the time they're handed to another player. your ban message says
You gave me a warning on forums for something that warnings aren't given for because I was apart of your mod report. I then questioned you about it, you had no answers so you deleted the warning, what? :^)
Mods are encouraged to not handle appeals or people they have connections with: either like or dislike. However sometimes they just have to do it because there isn't another mod who can help and it gets done. Most mods, regardless of fights, are able to make the correct decision in an appeal. It is the players that appeal poorly or purposely break rules that try and make mods look biased when an appeal is denied. When in fact it was denied because they have generally been warned a large amount of times and should know the rules. In other words it is less about mods bias than the fact players constantly trap mods into looking bias. Their decisions could be backed up by many staff and it still is argued. Anyway we have this suggestion in place for staff
A fight doesn't = bias. An appeal denial doesn't = bias. Yes the chance increases however it still not bias unless the player can prove 100% they did not do what they were banned for. We have this in place already but it isn't formal and won't be because most staff know how to be impartial dealing with people they don't like. Plus this is in the suggestion forum therefore is a suggestion. Players can report harsh punishments and the managers can deal with them otherwise we don't need rules on something we already do
I agree with what you're saying and I don't think that personally you are bias. Although it would be better if it was all staff like this, instead of most staff.
Most reports or appeals are handled by moderators that don't have relations with the player, anyways.
READ THE THREAD literally I'm talking about bias and not that this isn't aimed at you if your not doing it. This is aimed at the 2-3 mods that do it
I think that if one mod bans you then another mod should handle the appeal, then people won't feel like anyone is being too biased. Support
