To be honest, it seems absurd people are giving people no supports because they have no color in their application, or because it was too “short”.

You should only judge an applicant based off of their qualities and what YOU think about them. This has nothing to do with how “pretty” or “fancy” their application is. This needs to stop. It isn’t fair to hard working applicants and it cuts down on them.

Unless you have a valid point to make, don’t say anything about the looks of an application. Point made.

I honstly believe that this is not the sole reason that they are not supporting your app. It's merely a suggestion.

I understand your point if someone is no supporting an application for the sole reason of "no colour" or "not neat enough" etc. However some people like to point it out for multiple reasons, in my case, I would say it makes the application appealing to the eye and easier to read and understand, yet I wouldn't no support for that sole reason.

Likewise with the "too short" judgement. In some situations, an application can lack information where others think it could be elaborated more. In my opinion, if you're judging an application, you have to take into account if they're active, helpful, and would genuinely benefit the community on all in-game, forums and discord.

I think more people support or no support based on how the applicant acts and not as much the application itself. I guess people can no support for any reason.

Just make sure the application looks presentable and ensure that you add enough detail into it. Short and detailed often beats long and a tonne of fluff. If you think you have a lot of detail packed into your app then feel free to ask the person if they noticed you were detailed and didn’t want to ramble.

Don’t get hung up on no supports.

Criticism comes in all forms, whether you personally think one type of criticism is worth more than another it up to you. I'm not going to force people to respond to applications the same way that I do, and so I'd encourage you to do the same.
I personally believe that if someone doesn't put any effort into their application, it often reflects the amount of effort they're willing to put into their moderation. I also believe that a well-made application can influence what the community thinks of you as an applicant and as such plays some level of importance in gaining the support of the community. By no stretch of the imagination is this the only or most important part of applying, but claiming it has no part in the application process is incorrect. This aside, the advice is just that: advice. No one is truly forcing anyone to make their application a certain way, and a 'no support' from individuals who don't care to look further than the colour of the applicant's text shouldn't count for anything anyway.

I won't stop giving people advice on how to format and write their applications. Point made?

I agree mostly with what you said regarding colors and presentations. However, a very short application sometimes doesn' give the information needed. Like with college applications, the point of a mod app is to help the reader get to know the applicant a little better.

I agree with a lot of what has already been mentioned.

Whilst I'm also unanimous that you shouldn't mark an application down immediately by it's colour choices, or lack of, a smart looking application is likely to be easier to read and draw the reader in.

All players should be allowed an opinion on those standing forward to represent them on the team. If an opinion is solely based upon looks, and not how the player fits in with the community, then I can understand your point - but I don't see how it warrants a thread made about it... just move onto the other feedback which is more useful.

I mean the only thing an application should have is the information that is needed. However, applicants should obviously make it easier to differentiate the questions from the answers so that it's easy to read. I don't care much for color, the application can be in all black as long as at least the format questions are bold so it's easier to differentiate. Just needs to look neat.

Other than that, I agree, feedback should be based on the applicant, but the application should be neat and presentable.
