I turned on mob spawning on my island last night and I noticed that there is all mobs spawning or none. I think it would be nice to split into passive mobs and hostile mobs spawning, so that way you can keep your passive mobs spawning for island ambiance (if you have a sea fish could spawn, mobs naturally spawning in biomes like bamboo forests for example), and disable hostile so they don’t overrun your island.
I've built an ocean as part of my island, having mobs on would be great for passive fish turtules and dolphins, and having pandas spawning too amongst other passive animals, without having to worry that creepers and skeletons and drowneds will spawn. I also have my sheep farm, so hostile mobs would be a worry incase they kill my sheep. I support having passive and hostile mobs as two seperate toggles
I think we were already planning to add this before, not too sure why it's not a thing yet. Maybe there was a good reason, will have to talk to crew.
