First of all this is my opinion, don't get all defensive. If it hurts your feelings, then I'm sorry but it really shouldn't. No this is not going to anyone in particular. Mini modding is like doing something that a moderator would do. It's just doing something pointless. If a moderator is online don't go ahead and tell them not to do it. As the moderator would've most likely kicked them or warned them already. If the moderator is AFK it's okay to take screenshots and warn them (in my opinion). But if a moderator doesn't have an "[AFK]" tag next to their name in /list. Then that's a different story. Acceptable - If moderator is AFK. - If there are no moderators online (report it) - I also find messaging the player, even if the mod is online. It's better and is more mature, honestly. Deniable - If the moderator is not AFK and you decide to yell in global chat "Don't use caps" etc. - After the player has been obviously kicked you still tell them not to do it. - Yelling out "caps" or "spam" in chat is mini-modding and creating more spam for the server chat. And again. Please don't feel hurt or sad if you're reading this thread. Because this thread goes out to no one in particular nor will it. I don't want anyone being called out, thanks. Thanks for making this, Jelly. I feel like me and a few other players need to see this. I'll try to avoid doing this but it's so tempting XD but seriously, thanks for making this.
I know I read that, I'm just apologising if I do I never said it was aimed at me or if I thought it was.
I agree with this, but, to be honest.. we all did this to a point, they're just trying to get where we are now, That's why I always cut some slack for them.
I agree with you on that too, and trust me yeah, some can be a pest.. but they're just trying they're best. and I know with org it's a different thing. It's a smaller server and has enough mods to take care of it's chats, unless the mod's afk or there are none.
There are plenty of other ways to show that you are good mod material, and willing to help. For example, answering questions in chat and in the help section on the forum. Offering replacement saplings/ice/obsidian to new players who messed up is also helpful.
I do this sometimes usually when a mod isn't online. If a mod is online I will report it to them. I like helping out but if there is a mod online there really is just no point. I do this sometimes most of the time I just answer questions so time passes by. I think many other players should see this. Most people do mini modding to get mod as Kerahna said there are more ways to help out that is good to do. I like answering questions and helping people who got griefed, scammed, or looting. I usually replace items they have lost. I feel so happy helping people. I honestly do not care if I won't get mod I will keep on helping. (Sorry I don't know if this was a bit off topic) :/
