I read the rules after Emma was banned.


5. Why do YOU think you were banned?

This is my understanding of what happened.

Emma was trusted by another player and abused this trust.

Emma took some grass and wood from an open chest. This was intended more as a prank than as theft as Emma has lots of grass….. In any case this isn’t important because she didn’t return what she took. Emma didn’t destroy anything on the other player’s island.

Emma and I are not aware of anything else that she has done to get banned. I couldn’t find a report about Emma on the Skyblock report forum. If my understanding is incorrect then please tell me and I will ensure that Emma understands and we will make an alternative appeal.


6. Was this an incorrect ban?


I think it was a correct ban (although I think a permanent ban is too harsh). Emma is guilty of taking a things without permission and didn’t return them despite intending to do so. (The griefing rules state that Emma and the other player should have been asked to work out any differences between themselves and as far as I can ascertain, this didn’t happen.)


7. Were you ever banned before on SkyBlock? If so, what for?

No.

8. Why do you think you should be unbanned?

I have explained to Emma that stealing from a friend in Minecraft is the same as stealing from a friend at school. She understands and is very sorry. She will never make this mistake again. I have told her that is she is successful in her appeal then she must return twice as much as she originally took. This is a pretty hard lesson for an 8 year old but a good lesson nonetheless.

Emma goes to a Dutch speaking school in Belgium. She is taught to read and write Dutch. She has become fluent in reading and writing English mainly through playing Minecraft online and Skyblock is a very safe environment for her to do this. I would be a terrible shame to deny her this learning opportunity.

(Maybe you could consider banning Emma for a week or a month instead of forever).
