Skyblock is EPIC! :D Just a little too epic..... I log onto minecraft and the skyblock server is full 300/300... I do something else... check again.... 300/300.... I can't actually get onto that server now because it is too popular. I've run a private server before so isn't it possible to make it 500 max players online? ;)

Its normally been about 250 cap of late, just to 300 in the last day.
I think its an issue of server load manifested as server lag, result of several factors.

Just because you can toggle how many players it says the server can hold, doesn't mean it can hold it with stability. Usually the server can't handle 300, but after killing some chickens, I guess the server is doing fine right now. I will test 325 and 350 players later, to see how it does. Also it should at least be a tiny bit easier to get in now that new people can go to skyblock.org if the server is full. Honestly if I raised it to 400, the server would still be full on weekends. I took the slots off last week to see how far it would go and in 1 hour the amount of players was 415.

    >:O Well... I guess running a server privately and running with a host would be totally different

It's from the bukkit side of things.

Bukkit should only be able to handle 250 people at a time.
