    Hello:

I'm looking for a Nether Fortress in Skyblock 2.1. I'm playing on Java Minecraft 1.20.1.

I used the Nether Fortress Finder for the map seed 1435672245 and it reports that a Nether Fortress is located at 176/80 to 191/95 for version 1.20. I've built out to that point in the nether and have placed 4 netherbrick blocks in a 2x2 square at that location. However, no Nether Fortress mobs are spawning (I'm getting only Zombified Piglins) so it seems that there's no Nether Fortress at that location.

Can you let me know how to locate a Nether Fortress spot so that I can farm a few blaze rods?

Perhaps I'm misusing Nether Fortress Finder? For version I was entering the version of Minecraft which I was playing. Should I have instead entered the version of Minecraft with which the map was created? And if so, what version was the Skyblock 2.1 map created under?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Edit for clarity:
I'm playing the Skyblock 2.1 download map, solo, on my PC.

Currently I don't think it's possible to find nether fortress chunks, they may have been completely erased. Even the biomes are all one and the same so unfortunately the nether is a bit limited

I think you can still find fortresses (on eco at least) but since the nether resets every 1th of the month, a nether fortress finder wont that helpfull. I know that chests got disabled because of the anchiend debrees inside but the fortresses it self should still be findable

    Thanks Adriansop.

According to some posts on this topic I've read in other threads, the idea is to enter the nether and then go to a location where a nether fortress would have been according to the seed. Supposedly if you place netherbrick at such a location, blazes will spawn. Maybe this doesn't actually work or maybe I haven't correctly located where a nether fortress would spawn - certainly what I've tried so far isn't working.

Excuse my short reply earlier. I'm aware this is how players attempt to get blaze rods or various other mobs in more unique conditions. The longer answer is that the map may be from a time when the nether update wasn't released yet. So anywhere around the player will only be the nether wastes biome. In addition I've played the single player map a lot myself and had a similar experience in trying to find suitable areas to spawn blazes (also with fortress finders), but when attempting to find fortresses in different versions of the map that were released, none spawned. Setting up massive areas of spawning platforms and filtering mobs with command blocks also didn't work. Hence why I think that nether fortresses themselves, structure or not, aren't there. I've tried to bring up this issue a while back but no success yet

Thanks for the longer response and clarification Adriansop.

There are a few more things I guess I'll try but without the ablity to get blaze rods I'll probably stop play.

For what it's worth, I downloaded Skyblock 2.1 from the official site. As part of their FAQs, the site states that
    "
Skyblock is fully playable on Minecraft version 1.19.4. All worlds were recently converted to work on Minecraft 1.16.4 and above, including Minecraft 1.19.4."

When loading the map for the first time, the launcher shows that the map was created using Minecraft 1.16.4.

After trying several workarounds, I've been unable to get blazes to spawn while preserving the spirit of the map.

Could you not just create a new nether world in the world's folder, kill the mobs get the loot you want, then delete that world and add the old nether world back in?

Yes. Or I can hack the map with something like NBTExplorer and just give myself some blaze rods.

What I've decided to do instead though is to make a brand new 1.21 map using the same seed as the Skyblock 2.1 map, and then use a series of creative mode commands to recreate the Skyblock 2.1 map afresh. So far as I know there's only 3 islands to create (Oak Tree Island on which you spawn, nearby Sand Island, and Nether Island) so this won't be too difficult.

Once I create this new map I'll save it off somewhere and then use it to create an authentic Skyblock 2.1 experience that works with Minecraft 1.21. This will also fix the biome issue in the nether where all the biomes are Nether Waste.

I've now succeeded in creating a faithful replica of the overworld in a brand new Minecraft 1.20.1 map using the same seed as the original Skyblock 2.1 map. I've also succeeded in recreating the nether in this same map.

At this point, I plan on departing somewhat from the original Skyblock 2.1 map. I plan on creating a small, single square bedrock block with a chest on top of it containing a single nether brick. I'll place this bedrock/chest island in the nether where a nether fortress would normally appear. The intent is to signal that players should construct a small netherbrick platform atop/around the single bedrock brick in order to spawn nether fortress mobs such as blazes.

I'm also considering another modification to the original Skyblock 2.1 map to allow travel into "The End".

Comments are welcome as I'd like to share the map I eventually create, provided that I am able to obtain permission to do so from the Skyblock rights owners.
