I think limiting the amount of mobs around the server should be narrowed down to the amount of mobs per island. Its unfair for new players to start the game not being able to use a mob farm without a spawner, all the mobs are being used in huge farms to those who have tons of spawners. Making it so every island has its mob limit is a smart move, because it grants other players the ability to make mob farms easily without it always being full. I am a newcomer myself. I called a mod, a helper, and a developer to help me with this situation in which only the developer was able to give me a brief understanding to what was going on. I had just made a huge mob farm that costs alot of money (atleast to me) that ended up not working because from what i heard from the developer, the server reached its max mob capacity which meant i can simply not make the farm work. but if the islands had limited amount of mobs, that wouldn't have happened Big islands with alot of spawners take a bit more than they need and i think newcomers should be put into consideration. And for that, i wanna see if people agree with me on that or not.
if a mob is stacked it behaves as one singular mob, and does not produce the lag for 28,000 of itself, nor does it even make the lag for 2 of itself. only make statements on lag if you know what you are talking about please.
Mine was just a suggestion There still should be something changed, alot of players can't make farms including me. If u think its a bad idea then im more than welcomed to know what you think i should do
Support, Players constantly ask in chat why their spawner isn’t working. I believe something has to be done.
Support To be honest I'm a bit torn between support and neutral. I think a mob cap per island is a good and bad idea. I think for tps reasons this is great, I think for mob grinder reasons this is also great. The idea in general is really good. I'm held up at the idea though that possibly passive animals that are on your island would contribute to this count. So like, if I have tamed parrots or wolfs for example they would count. If there is a way to bypass that then I think this idea would be extremely beneficial, but unless there isn't I feel like limiting the amount of named pets/tamed pets/passive mobs you can have is a bit restrictive. If the mob cap would be within the single animal, not limiting the amount of different animals that you can have, but rather the max amount of spawns for that animal (ex. a 900x chicken) then I'm supporting as well, I'd just like a bit more elaboration on the subject. So yeah, basically my question is are you proposing to limit the max amount of spawns of a single mob, or the max amount of mobs that can be on the island at one point in time. (either way I'm supporting this idea, I just think some clarification would be nice.)
My suggestion is to just figure out a way to tackle this issue, im dont specfically suggest limiting the amount of mobs per island, i am just saying that this is an issue and here is a suggestion. Instead of asking to fix this issue without giving any sort of suggestion. Because im sure there'll be many other better ways to fix it, i just dont have an exact one in mind.
Why should they add this? so they can break more and more farms? also what about spawners? there is no mob limit regarding spawners? at least i think there is only mobs limits with naturally spawning mobs? i mean that might be a plugin or sumthin i just think this server is throwing away too many features just because of lag
