Over the past year I have seen a lot of drama and chaos on the staff team (I myself being in the midst of it). I think that if staff were to interview staff applicants before hiring them, they would be able to eliminate some of the conflicting members in our staff. You will be able to: 1. Get to know the applicant on a more personal level and see who they really are. 2. Ask questions and get more in-depth answers from applicants who may have more to say then what is on their application. 3. Single out any applicants who may be unfit for the job or simply trolling or looking for a way to get onto staff for counterproductive reasons. 4. See if this applicant will work with your existing staff. If you dont believe someone will work well with your team, maybe it isn't a good idea to hire them, as they may cause unwanted problems in the future. I believe that interviews are important for any job someone applies for, and if we were to use this tactic in hiring staff members, we would be preparing some of the younger users for a skill that could last them a life time. I think that using real world practices in the virtual game we all play gives the game value, and doesn't make it seem like a complete waste of time. Interviews take place for real jobs, and I believe moderating is a real and serious job, as you are trusted with helping and guiding lots of kids and others in a friendly environment. Thank you
It would be a scheduled interview. I know it works because Hypixel does it. Its very effective, too. ALl of their staff members are almost completely perfect. Not saying staff has to be perfect.
The ability to lie is strong. Not to mention that is basically why the tmod rank exists. "Hopefuls" as I call them are given an unset amount of time to prove themselves. They do well and they get mod. They slack or show improper ability, and the time is either extended or terminated.
I agree. I don't think Interviews would replace the Tmod rank, I was thinking it would just make the process more thorough, and possibly making it easier and not wasting as much time.
In theory it sounds like a good idea, but it's not exactly necessary for servers this small. The staff drama mainly has been because there are great staff with strong opinions, not because they are trouble makers or those not worthy of the position. The fact that the interview is literally the mod app and the tmod rank gives a great look at how a person goes within the role and has been successful thus far, I don't believe things should change. Not to mention, cyp would have to organise all this, while being an admin on a whole bunch of server and also have a life. It's too much to ask of one person. The system is fine, and a lot of fantastic mods have come out and the drama, and I too have been through some of it, doesn't last. I don't support this, sorry
Tbh i support this since there were too much something... Yeah i'll just say it like that ._. In the mod team when i was around and it still seems to continue.
People and more importantly staff members should try to give the applicants some feedback on their app, and general activity on the server. Saying "Support" or "No support" isn't enough. That is the only thing that should change when it comes to moderator applications, in my opinion.
