Maybe try increasing the broacast time of saying dirt trade is illegal And bucket trade is illegal. It may decrease the amount of bans and people island farming. Just a though cause i get many People in chat saying trading Dirt and buckets. I Always reply with That said item is illegal But if I'm not online i like to know that most people aren't trading illegal items and following the rules. Just an idea i came up with to stop most people being banned for illegal trade Maybe this can be looked at into being put into a broadcast. I say we have a broadcast that says 'remember to read the /rules' and basically make an easy rules plugin that displays the rules just like /help.
War, when you are offline, there are a lot of people to pull people up on illegal trades. like im on often and when i go to sleep, all the mods come online to deal with people, and so many other players help out. Theres no point having many broadcasts spamming chat, when I guess like troy said, we can remind people to read rules and use a rules plugin
There are so many broadcasts that are needed. not just illegal tradings, but chat etiquette, and other tips that probably would end up making people angry if they see it spammed and the ones that need it wont pay attention. Its like a losing battle that we all do our best to help moderate chat while no mod is online to do so.
Or we can do this the simple way and add [selling dirt] to pwn filter so when ever someone puts selling and dirt next to eachother pwn filter will block it and warn the user that dirt trade is illegal, I added this to my server just for a test and it worked no problem and it took me less then 5 mins to do it. it can also be done with buckets.
except when someone chooses to phrase it differently such as selling (a number) dirt, or we try and say selling dirt is illegal
Except that /rules is currently broken, which should be another suggestion to fix (has been in the past, IIRC)
