    Dear Skyblockers,
It has come to the staff team's attention that multiple players are coming up to them asking whether one of us can "approve" their casino. You may or may not have been involved in a situation regarding this, and this thread is designed to explain why we don't "approve" casinos, and how you can make your casino more reliable to players who are unsure on the legitimacy of it.

    What does it mean?
The phrase "approving a casino" has been circulated around the server a lot recently, and owners of a casino may ask a staff member from the team to approve the casino so that it gives player's a better idea that they are playing a legit casino. This approved system is often done where a moderator checks the dispenser or dropper for the loot that claims to be in it, and if it's in it, the player will then ask the staff member to place a sign saying "Approved by Southwark" - for example. This sign is actually hardly useful to a player, and it'll be explained later on why that is so.

Why can't my casino be approved?
There can be scamming situations through the use of approved casinos. As staff, we cannot moderate these casinos 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Meaning that the dispenser or dropper is open to editing at any time. For example, a player could put all the loot they claim players can win, ask a mod to approve it, and remove all the good loot and the sign saying approved will still be there. No players will know, but the sign remains. If the player catches onto the scam and realises there are no good prizes, then the blame will be put on the staff member that "approved" this casino. Due to the ability to easily change these casinos, it is simply unreasonable for staff members to do so.

How can I gain trust from my customers?
It's a lot easier than you think, just politely and kindly ask if a staff member is free and for them to check if the prizes you claim are winnable, they can always stay there for 5 minutes until the customer has completed their game. Players also know a lot more than you think, if you're reputable for having a good behaviour and no ban history, that's definitely something that entices players. It also goes without saying, players are more likely to be attracted to casinos that are run by friendly, active and helpful players! By also ensuring that you check your prizes frequently, it minimises the risk of you running out of rewards and players can see this as a scam. Don't get caught out!

Be polite and kind to the staff team
Please also be aware that staff members have to help other players, with things like griefs and scams which always takes priority over casinos, so all we ask is that you are patient, considerate and understanding and wait until the staff member is free to help you out. We're here to help, but we need your cooperation too.

Hopefully this clears up most of the recent queries popping up about casinos being approved, we don't approve them, but we can monitor them for players now and then. This thread was made with the help of your lovely skyblock staff team members
(Do not ask a staff member to come monitor your casino every 5 minutes - we are busier than you think!)

    Please gamble with caution!
    Thank you,
    Skyblock Staff Team.

Please review this thread as we are being asked to check casinos.
Players need to be careful with where they gamble, as there has been a surge in casino scams. Please do not get caught out and gamble at your own risk!
    Thank you!

Thanks Southwark! This was super helpful! I understand that moderators cannot approve casinos, but I’m sure I’ve seen casinos that have been approved by staff?

I'm sorry for any of the confusion caused, I also have seen that staff members have previously approved casinos, but this has led to people being scammed and the staff members are then deemed by players as unreliable - even though it really isn't the staff member's fault. In order to prevent this from happening again, we have been instructed not to approve any further casinos. While this may hurt sales of other people's casinos, it's important to maintain that trust between players and staff, and also to make sure that the staff team is not affected negatively.

I hope this clears up your query and I'll make sure to forward this message onto the team again.
Thanks for bringing that up. :)

Thank you for this helpful thread South, The best way to make sure you don't get scammed by a casino, is to not play them in the first place. But if you do, always gamble at your own risk.
