Hi Guys, I see these forums every now and then of ideas to get "more" mods or "better" mods and the question is... why are we merely criticising the current situation rather than giving ideas on how to improve it. I've recently thought up an idea which is the idea of "OT Mods" (One Week Mods).
My idea of a week long mod is a player who is willing to give up one week of their time to help deal with all the problems new players may be having, then afterwards they can decide to either pursue the role of a permanent mod or can return to their normal Skyblock lives.

So the reason I'm thinking of getting ideas on how to implement this is for the following reasons:
    - As a one week mod you are a lot more enthusiastic than a permanent mod. As a permanent mod you are there for a really long time, weeks, months, potentially even a year (if you don't get demoted or resign) and this causes you to tire of having to deal with petty problems that new players may have, e.g. "this guy won't get off my island, ban him please." As a temporary one week mod you find yourself to be 1. more active (which is very key) as you are trying to make the most of those 7 days. 2. more willing to deal with problems (since you only have to deal with them for 1 week) and last of all this helps promote the idea of the role of "mod". We already have a lack of mods because people are unaware of what the role is really like, tiring, tedious etc. is the general idea most people have. With a 1 week trial, players can get a taste of what being a "mod" actually entails and for all you mods out there, with the experience of a week of being a mod, players may gain some more respect for you ;3.

Let's go over some more positives, this is a positive for all you non-donor's out there. As it stands, the fact is, if you are a non-donor, you are labelled a "greenie" and are hated... that's right this little hierarchy is forming. The idea of OT mods can help destroy at least parts of this segregation and can help slightly bring the community closer. We all know what it's like being a non-donor and being a greenie, and we all know that there are cool non-donors out there, just that we don't see much of them. The idea of OT mods can help the non-donors who are actually good, genuine and cool people, be more integrated into the community. I was a greenie a few weeks ago and now that I'm a donor I am now apparently finally worth talking to. This should be stopped.

As a last positive this will take a lot of the burden off the mods. I play decently often and the moment a mod says as little as a "Hi" they will get bombarded with questions and asks for assistance, leading all mods to be in AFK mode 90% of their online time, which then leads to a large chain of hate since Mods are "never online when you need them" or are "useless" etc. With more people to ask questions to and with more people helping those in need, the mods will be able to just deal with the more important problems such as coop griefing etc. and sitting down with a bag of chips and talking to people while enjoying skyblock.net like they did before they became mods >.<.

As Negatives there are a few things
    1. Admins will need someone to organise the appointing and demoting of OT mods as even though it is 1 week, it still needs to be restricted so people who are honestly interested in helping people out are the only ones who can get the role.
    2. Admins will have to restrict commands on these mods as the ability to do things like go through players ender chests and inventories may be a problem.
    3. Mods will be burdened with showing the ropes to these new OT mods though overall this can be solved with a forums page on what to do as an OT mod and a list of things not to do.
4.If too many OT mods are appointed it will defeat the idea of the power of mods. This will purely be a problem for admins but just stating it in case an admin actually reviews this discussion.

Those are the Positives and Negatives I've thought up so far. I came to discussion first before submitting it as an idea as I know the idea is not perfect and I'm sure many of you have good ideas we can do to improve this. I'm here merely to promote an idea to assist those who need help while all the mods are AFK and not here to force my ideas down your throat. If you like it, state why. If you hate it, state why. Haters are gonna hate but those who are truly intelligent will have a reason ;3

Thank you very much for reading!
P.S. If this idea has already been used but didn't work... please excuse me.
I'm a player from like 2-3 years ago so I'm basing everything off my recent encounters in the last month or so...
P.S.S. Also this is not restricted purely to 1 Week Mods but rather can be used from any range from 1-4 Weeks long.

I mean its a good idea but I really see it being to much to look out for.
