[US] IGNJonathan Your in-game name: My in-name is IGNJonathan. You might also know as 'IGN' or sometimes 'Jonathan' on the server. Which timezone are you in? The time zone that I am in right now is the Pacific Time Zone, also known as PST (UTC -8:00). Having this timezone would give me an advantage to moderating since it would allow me to moderate during hours when some moderators might not be able to moderate, depending on their activity Which languages do you speak? I speak four different kinds of languages. I can fluently speak and write both English and also Vietnamese as well. While I can speak both English and Vietnamese fluently, I could also speak a little bit of Chinese and a little bit of Spanish as well (I am still learning both languages at the moment). As for languages, speaking many languages can sometimes be taken as advantage as well. With the ability to speak in another language, when it comes to situations where there's a person in need of help but somehow can't speak English, speaking another language could sometimes become helpful. Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?) Unfortunately yes, I recently have been banned from skyblock.net due to a misunderstanding grief incident. As many of you might not know, leon3ppp allowed many people to grief his island with permission, and with the incident, I was one of the victims. Because griefing is placing, moving, or destroying blocks without the permission of the person that owns the island, I thought that it might of been acceptable to grief the island since leon3ppp gave out permission to. But even though leon3ppp did give out permission for other people to grief his island, I later started to realize that the griefing incident wasn't acceptable at all as if it could 'encourage' others to grief or find griefing in a way acceptable. Yes, I have learned my lesson from this incident and understand the circumstances that could be happen viewed through the public's perspective from this incident. The ban appeal below could also be viewed for further information about the incident. [IGNJonathan] Griefing [Snozzle] | Skyblock Forums Why do you think you should be a mod? From helping people in our community to protecting our server, I think that there are some reasons why I think I should become a moderator. Helping other people in our community and also the community itself has always been what I've always enjoyed doing since the beginning. These things include protecting our server's chat, handling with people's griefs or loot issues, reporting sights of any form of bridging, reporting any broken rules done by other players which include nickname abusing, advertising, or swearing, and also helping our new players along the server, including how to start off an island, the basic and 'in-depth' rules of our server, and also show what makes our server very unique. I also sometimes help on our community's forum site at times when a person needs to move a specific thread to another section, helping people that usually need help whether it's on the forums, or in-game, or at times reporting people are usually disobeying the rules on the forums such as advertising or disrespecting other people. I also am usually active on our community's forums as well, active enough, I will usually check for every few hours, so if anyone needs help whether it's in-game or on the forums, I would be able to help them. Availability in my opinion is one of the biggest moderator factors that players are usually concern about. Many players usually have complaints about how moderators aren't really that active in-game and how some of our moderators don't really come on at times. In my opinion, I don't think that we have lack of moderating nor a small amount of moderators like most people would say, but the only problem that we are kind of looking at in my opinion is our time-zone coordinations. Like stated in the beginning, having the Pacific Time Zone kind of applies an advantage to our moderating since most of us come from multiple time zones and countries. Most of our players usually come on in my timezone during the afternoon through the evening, this is when most of our Eastern Time Zone and United Kingdom players are usually setting off to night-time. With this advantage, it will allow to me moderate at hours when some moderators are not able to moderate, such as hours that range from afternoon through night. Another thing that seems to be one of the biggest moderator factors as well is having actual effort in being a moderator. When I first started playing on different kinds of servers probably two years ago, I wanted to become a moderator, not to actually moderate but to be 'cool' and have all these special abilities and have fun. But if you actually look at what is a moderator, it's not about having the prefix 'mod' or having all these special abilities to fly and get popularity from becoming a moderator, it's really about protecting the server, help other players, and to prevent anything bad from happening. I just want get the message out there to people that are applying for popularity or special permissions. Being moderator means that you will devote part of your free-time, use your strength and knowledge, and then use it to protect the server and keep it in good condition. I feel like I should be moderator because in some sort of way, I want to give back something to this server after what's it given me. What are the benefits of becoming a mod? What are the benefits of becoming a moderator? There are many benefits that I could obtain from becoming a moderator but one of the biggest things that could really help me improve from becoming a moderator is helping out in real communities. As some of you might already know, I'm one of the head leaders of my school's anti-bullying program, which helps most students from my school's community since if they're witnessing bullying or is a victim of bullying, they could always report it to our anti-bullying program and always receive some help if in need. Improving the school's anti-bullying program would be really amazing, but what I'm really aiming from the moderating experience on here is helping other players. From helping out players that are old to new, it gives me at least some experience for an upcoming program that I will be joining called WEB. Now, what is WEB about and what do you do? "Being a WEB leader is a fun experience that allows you to connect with incoming sixth graders during their entire sixth grade year. You will help get the chance in help guide them through the transition to middle school that can sometimes be challenging. The commitment is a full year and includes some days over the summer." From the moderating experience, with the sixth graders, I could really help them out with the transition to middle school with many things like help them understand the school's policies with dress codes, levels of behavior, what to expect from middle school, and many more. Also while helping them transition from elementary to middle school, the moderating experience will also help me interact with them and have something to connect with them. The duties of a WEB leader are very similar to the duties of a modern moderator, and since they are very similar to each other, becoming a moderator will be very beneficial in future outcomes like the WEB program. How long can you be active on the server every day? My availability or my activity on the server varies at times whether I am available or whether I am sometimes not available. At the majority of the time, there will be times that I will be active for 3-5 hours, and others times I will be active for only 2 hours. Some of my activity on the server will also take place on MineChat as well at times when I am unable to reach in-game. Do you have any past experience as a moderator? Yes, I have had some past experience as being a moderator. I am still currently an administrator on my friend's server, helping those who are usually in need like our new players on the server. Besides having some experience on a regular server, I have had also some experience moderating outside of Minecraft servers. As an ASB student at my school, I usually moderate our social media that we have today, and since social media is the new way to communicate with each other, it could also sometimes become dangerous in situations like cyber-bullying. As my job as an ASB student, I am in charge of keeping our social media safe and also in charge of reporting people that are sometimes causing cyber-bullying. Not to mention, I am also one of the head leaders of my school's anti-bullying program, so if anyone is witnessing bullying or is a victim of bullying, they could always reach to our anti-bullying program. Thank you for reading my moderator application. I would just like to thank everyone who took their time to read over my application and also left their opinion or feedback on this application. #4 See you helping alot Me and you are the ones who are always helping in chat Love to see you as a moderator.
You help out the chat a lot, and you're a great help, (especially when I'm the only mod on.. ;-; ). Your application is very well writen, along with your strong sense of maturity, I think you'd be a perfect candidate for mod. You have my support, good luck.
Nice app, bud. I'll just vouch right now that this guy is extremely trustworthy, and one of the nicest and most willing to help people on the entire server. One massive, gargantuan, elephantine support. (Also the last I'll give before I come back to .net ) Good luck, you really deserve it.
