    Hi guys,

I wish to provoke zombie attacks on villagers so I can turn them into Zillagers and then nametag and cure them so I can get nametagged villagers with names like "Joseph" and "Peter" and "Suleiman the Magnificent".

However, locking them in a room with zombies doesn't seem to work due to nerfed mob AI. They now just stand there; zombies only attack me now and not the villagers. ANy suggestions?

    Thanks!

Have you tried making a mob farm to get zombie villagers to spawn?

Yes, but for some reason spawned Zillagers don't seem to be nametaggable/I believe they are susceptible to despawning. I am trying to find out if villagers that come from a spawner can be converted into Zillagers and nametagged without suffering the same issue. Please let me know if you can shed some light on this issue!

I attempted this months ago and nothing worked out, from reloading chunks while they're completely closed, to fill a room with a lot of breeded villagers and a zombie inside and it was before the ai nerf. Unfortunately, I've concluded it simply was removed since none of the villagers got zombified.

Space and I were discussing this a couple months ago; a possible solution was to have a trident-wielding drowned trapped in a 1x1, and then spawn a villager in front of it. Though the drowned won't attack the villager directly, it will still throw tridents at the player(you). Thus, it will hit the villager on the way to you and potentially zombify it. The only trouble is that I don't know if I can get my trident back 100% by killing the drowned. Do you have any idea if I give a drowned my trident and kill it, will it drop 100%?

As long as you don't got a drowned wandering around and stacking, it should be 100% safe as long as u nametag it/put him in a boat. Otherwise u'd have to build a small tank and wait for one to naturally spawn(Idk if they can spawn with trident, never tried on this server). I completely forgot the variants so I never end up trying with drowned and husks now that u mention it :scream:

I made a village by just having mobspawning on. There are enough zombie villies spawning that way can be healed and nametagged.
Getting villies that way and breeding them stops them from stacking and natural spawned zombies will try to attack those villies.
I also have a natural spawned baby zombie villie nametagged in a boat

    Edit:
I got another naturally spawned adult zombie villie and nametagged him as well. So not sure why you cant name them from a spawner :(

Zombies or drowneds zombifying villagers falls under mob griefing, which is disabled.

Upon testing, name tagged Zillagers retain their nametag when cured.

Only partially. Can I leave this up until a necromancer comes along to teach me how to make zillagers?

This is a naturally spawned trident drowned, and turns out, it is possible to zombify villagers. Interestingly, it does not zombify a stack of villagers, it will instead zombify the "top" villager in the stack and spit out the rest of the villagers.

I deny any and all claims of necromancy.

Can you try name tagging and curing one to see if it remains
