Snapshots for 1.9 have been released, and you can now use them if you'd like. Here's a guide to show you how to get it.

1) Open the Minecraft launcher and select "new profile."


2) A window will pop up, and you should select, "Enable experimental development versions ('snapshots')."


3) When you click it, another window should pop up. Select "Yes" if you want to continue. Select "No" if you don't want to continue.


4) After pressing "Yes," go down to "Use Version..." and then scroll up to the latest version. Select the latest version.


5) Select "Save Profile" at the bottom right corner of the window.



Might corrupt your singleplayer worlds, but yolo.

I suggest making a new world so nothing gets ruined.
