We'll today I was wondering how to install mods and you guys are very friendly so could you help me out here.

 

First off... what type of mods? Forge?

 

Umm I guess like a shader mod or other things like that idk what types of mods there are

 

By types of mod, I mean what mod loader is needed to run them. Forge is the easiest and the most common.

 

Ok I guess I'll use that then

Here are the instructions for the installer:
Make sure you ran the version of Minecraft you want mods in!
1. Download the Forge Mod Loader for the version of Minecraft you want mods in.
The installer is available here: Minecraft Forge Downloads
2. Open the installer by clicking the Java symbol
3. Open the Minecraft Launcher
4. Hit the install button
5. Wait for it to complete
6. Restart the launcher
(You may need to relog-in at this point)
7. Look for the profile forge
8. Hit play
9. Check to see if the mod loader is installed (it will tell you on the start menu)

Here are the instructions for mods:
1. Download the mod(s) you want
2. If it is in a zipped folder, do NOT unzip it
3. Move it to %AppData%\.minecraft\Mods
4. Run Minecraft


Let me know if you get things like ID conflicts and that pesky stuff.
