Going to start by saying sorry for so many spoilers. They are just the images and It is easier on my computer I am on at the moment. (my bad computer) to just see spoiler instead of loading up multiple images. It is a very old computer.

Greifing has been a more popular thing for people to do against others lately. Since more players have arrived with the holiday season. And new players may not understand the importance of the lockette plugin.

In this guide I will show you how to use not only the lockette plugin to your advantage But overall how to avoid getting greifed. not only with chests. But with anything you find valuable.

    First things first: Chests.

Chests are the most common things to be locked with lockette. Because all you have to do is simply right click it with a sign. And it automatically locks it for you. No crouching or anything. All you have to do is right click with a sign while looking at the chest.

You would think that lockette may only prevent you from stopping people from opening your chests the normal way. But that is not the case. It even stops people from placing hoppers underneath your chests. Or using any other method that involves removing the items from your chest.

Here is an example with hoppers:
(Thank you Mospah and ikillyou589 for helping me out and locking the chest so I can test this)
It is a little bit hard to tell from the screenshot. But when you place down the hopper underneath the chest. It quickly disappears after a second of being under. And gives you the lockette permission warning. The only thing (I know off) that can currently unlock a locked chest. Is a mine cart hopper. and rails are disabled. So it is impossible.

How to protect your island from getting greifed!

One thing that I always find difficult to do and is, even almost impossible at times. That is, stopping greifers to get to your island in the first place. I have seen islands that were made with a huge lava wall around it. And other extravagant defenses. But we are going to make something alot simpler than this. All it is. Is more chests.

That may sound confusing but give me a minute to explain my idea.

When someone takes something from a chest. It is logged. So that if you trade with someone in chests. then you can log it. And refund someone if they were scammed. But it also has another benefit. If someone puts a unlocked chest somewhere with a grass block in it. The greifer will more than likely take it! And if they do. You just got a name for the culprit. It is as easy as that. Here's my example.

Yes it may cost a grass block to do, but a grass block is not very much for most people. And you will more than likely get refunded after you make a report and the person is given punishment.
And inside of the chest we see a single grass block so that when someone takes it. It will become logged as I said, and you will get your name.

There is however, a few flaws with this plan. one of which includes hoppers. They dont log as taking them out of the chest. It logs it as magically disappearing. So just put a locked chest underneath the unlocked grass chest. And you cant use hoppers, problem solved!

Another problem with this is just breaking the chest. Which you cannot really do anything about as sad as that is. There is no real way to stop that. But putting in a bunch of random useless items might stop them because they don't want to pick those items up. And they will go everywhere if you break them.

While this is not really preventing them from coming and greifing, because there is no real way. It will always be possible to greif and not get caught because of how logs work. But it will certainly make it alot easier to catch them this way.

How to protect your blocks, cord's or anything else on your island.

Now onto how to protect your blocks themselves. The pillars that hold up your skyscrapers. The bridge, that connects you to your cow farm. Anything that you built on your island, I will try to protect with this tip.

It is as simple as this:
Dont invite people to your island that you don't know!

There are 100,000's of islands in skyblock (estimate) and most of them are just the starter islands that people either island farmed materials for or new players just quit the moment they started up there new island. And the chances of the amount of people running around blatantly running around greifing random islands, to greif your island. Is very low. When you want to trade go to /warp skybase and simply go into one of the trading booth's as shown here:
Just stand on the pressure plate and no one can come in!
(type /nearby before trading, some players will use invisible potions so they can still what is inside the chest)

If you don't do this, then players can save your cords. And go back later when you leave the server. And there will not be anyone to stop them from greifing your island.

    Tpa Requests

This is also true for anyone that randomly sends you /tpa request, or someone that says they are going to send a /tpahere request. Make sure you read the text before you accept. This is crucial.

Here is an example of a tpa request to you. Please note how it says "player has requested to teleport to you"
And here is an example of tpahere request. Please note how it says "player has requested you to teleport to them" This kind of teleport cant really do much harm to you unless they are a high level donor, and are sitting in lava with god mode :(
Thanks for MusicCentral for helping me and sending me tpa requests!

There isn't very much else to cover. The rest is just common since. Just have fun out there and fallow these tips and nothing bad will happen to you! And if it does. Just create a report here:

I've been wondering if it's possible to use a large number of locked chests or doors as a way to make an Impervious barrier?

    Thoughts?

Having a lot of locked blocks in one location can cause extreme lag. So be cautious.
