Global Updates - December 2nd, 2023 New vote link has been added! https://vote4.skyblock.net The new vote site we are using is the Official Minecraft Server List that was recently released. We have traditionally stuck with 3 vote links to limit rewards in the server economy that are given by voting, however we will ultimately move up to a maximum of 5 links soon to increase our exposure on the numerous voting sites. Changes to milestone rewards have been adjusted. Vote Party threshold has been increased from 80 to 100. The order of vote links have also slightly changed. This will slightly affect Top Voters. Of course, adding more links may make it more difficult or time consuming for players to get in the top list. This is needed however considering we have had months with up to 70 winners (including the past month). For players that might see this announcement too late and potentially miss the top list by a few votes, we will still give the gift card reward if we feel they are still eligible at the end of December. Let us know your thoughts. Thanks!
Noobcrew, you ask for our thoughts so please stop deleting them! The vote sites claim, "no resets" and "never lose your work" This is not true! Skyblock.org was reset and all work lost.
I really don't understand why you have to criticize absolutely everything. You can dm me instead of making everything a public annoyance. It is true, when it comes to the main server(s), we do not reset them and we aren't looking to reset them in the future. That is what matters. The point of this comment was that the server is unlike other networks that reset their server(s) on a consistent basis. The classic server, or the prior Survival server, is also still up and has been online since 2013, and still contains over 500k+ islands. As for the last economy server (skyblock.org), I can't remember but there was no reason to keep it up for various reasons and that was 5+ years ago.
I don’t criticise everything. You asked for our thoughts, I gave mine. Why no DM? Too many reports, conversations, etc go unanswered by staff. I assume they get put in the “too hard, don’t answer” basket. I suppose when so many things of much greater importance gets totally ignored, and a player is massively disrespected, then that player might get bitter. As for some more constructive comments. I think a lot of people won't like the fact that they have to vote more often for the top voters and this might show a decline, it might not, time will tell. I certainly lack the energy to vote on every site now. Players will likely enjoy the extra vote rewards, so there's some good with the bad. But I understand the need to get exposure on all the voting sites and you need the support of your player base to do that. I think if I was in your shoes, I'd roll my eyes every time a new "top server list" website came out because you have to ask more of your players to remain competitive.
This is absolutely huge. It is the reason I am here and not on any other server. This may sound silly, but I like to imagine that at some point Crew will form a financial trust dedicated to maintaining these servers and the hundreds of thousands of sparks of creativity on them for perpetuity, and that future digital archeologists might someday come and see what their ancestors were doing at the dawn of the Digital Age. I'd chip in to fund it.
This will help the Skyblock economy because more grass gets generated, better vote rewards will support newer players and we also have more vp‘s now since the required vote number got increased by 20% while the vote link number increased by 25%. Great update, thanks : D
Vote links went from 3 to 4, required votes went from 80 to 100. 100:4 is 25, 80:3 is 26.7, so if the same amount of people votes we have more vote partys.
But right now we have the opposite of an inflation because way more grass got deleted then generated in the last 6 months by the wondering trader. That's what causes the grass shortage, more grass getting generated will make the market heal faster.
