Global Updates - April 21st, 2023 We were contacted by Mojang to make some adjustments to our servers to comply with Minecraft's guidelines and EULA, the following changes were made: 1. Casinos located at the spawn on Skyblock Economy have been disabled. 2. The Bartender no longer serves alcohol named drinks. This will be improved more on our upcoming update. 3. The Lottery plugin on both Economy and Survival have been re-named to "Raffle". Corresponding commands are '/raffle buy 1' instead of 'lotto buy 1', etc. (Sorry on this one, I know the Lottery plugin is legendary and the Raffle name kinda sucks but we have to.) Many updates and changes to our map on the Minecraft Marketplace was recently applied. Do let us know if any new issues are discovered. The "Mods" section of the site has now changed to "Bedrock". This area will be expanded on in the future with information on how to connect to our multiplayer servers via Bedrock (releasing 1-2 months after the 1.19.2 update) along with more Marketplace content. The 1.19.2 update is coming soon, I promise!
Was always coming. So does raffle function like a raffle in that the prize pool and number of tickets is determined before hand or is it still really a lottery?
It still functions as lottery always has, only change was that its now called raffle instead of lottery. Maybe this will change?
Casinos at spawn could encourage gambling before a player even starts an island. There could be a warp for a casino themed mini game as an idea to improve. Happy to see some new bartender names, the beta had this also some good update news, looking forwards to the official release
Speaking about the bedrock map whenever I try playing it on my phone (Samsung S8) there's a really bad delay between interacting with blocks. I've had this issue since I bought it a few months ago and it still seems to be there (but it works fine on PC bedrock). I'm able to get rid of this when I disable the maps resource pack but that removes the hub item and achievement location. Turning down the graphics settings doesn't fix this either.
Microsoft when EULA isn't violated: Microsoft when Casinos exist on economy spawn (a lot of players have them):
Oh yeah lets make them change the phrase 'lot' and 'lotto' to raffle but not stop the paid parts of the server lmao
Drogo ran a test previously on lottery by adding the /lot buy 2 command to his auto ad script. After about a week, Drogo had pretty much won the same as he’d put in which is what you would expect if you play long enough. It would be interesting to see if it’s the same for those that use the auto lottery buy in. Drogo expects it is, over a long enough period. If so, it kind of makes it a pointless feature that does nothing much more than draw the attention of Mojang. At least no individual is profiting off it.
Despite what EULA originalists would have you believe, the paid aspects are generally compliant with EULA guidelines as per the commercial use updates of April 2020. The changes that were made to the server here were all things that very clearly broke the current EULA and Microsoft's push to make family friendly Christian Minecraft servers. When it comes to the shop, there is really only one gray area that's open to interpretation: Some people take this to the most extreme interpretation, and state that both servers are actually competitive due to Survival having /leaderboards, and Economy having balance leaderboards at spawn along with /baltop. However, the statement says that leaderboards can make a server competitive, not that they always do. Generally, Microsoft will only enforce this in situations where leaderboards have meaning, and aren't just something informative (i.e. servers were top of leaderboards are given special rewards or bonuses). It would be difficult to argue that either of these Skyblock servers are truly competitive. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if one day Microsoft decided they wanted the top five removed from Economy's spawn. I would be a bit surprised if they also wanted removal of the commands for checking leaderboards for each as well, but even that wouldn't be that devastating of a change for the server.
