Gonna rant about this BS here..

why the hell do well known players or high donors get "warned" when they break the rules. it's not even funny, everytime I see a report on someone that the mods favor or someone that is donor250-400 and they swear they just get warned.

its literally a rinse and repeat process for them.
    *swear*
    *warned*
    *wait 2 days*
    *rinse and repeat*

and then when u see someone with 2 posts and a greenie being reported they get muted instantly, and no warn.

oh and hell nooooo dont even start with the "but we kicked them"

ive seen so many players swear at times like LZ3_ (no offense just an example) leon3pp<<
and when i did /seen lz3_ he was still online for like 50 minutes and that shows he wasnt kicked.

idk never happened to me, i get warned 3 tiems and never listen just decided to rant

NOW DO U WANT TO SEE MY HEHEXD MEMES???!?!?!?!1

I said Niger and as I tried to explain myself that Niger is a country, I was muted for it and the staff member saw no wrong in their acts. It's not about the donor rank, it's whether or not if they like you or not. Mods are bias, and no matter how much they say "No, I am not bias" they truly are. I know this because I was on the staff team once, and I seen it. All mods are bias, even I was.

    yea i remember that

    see someone sees the truth!!!

edit: i made this thread because someone named kittkat (might know, i think the mods LOOOVE HER) curses all the freaking time and she was only warned for being sexual. "wanna see my -cat-"

i can imagine it has its ups ands downs, but what dewmellon said is 100% right.

i can think of an example rite away

Krissy and Mai (no offense lmao)

if i started cursing <(warned once, then muted)
if mai did it (she never would ) ( warned 1000x times)

its just how friendship works, u dont want to ruin it

like dewmellon and larry ( i think u guys are good friends lol [?]
    no offense ^^

Lol, what, this isn't to single out anyone, it's not just with one person, it's with all mods. All mods have morals, and all mods have different opinions. Mods are going to treat someone differently that they know rather then someone they don't know.

    Ok
The reason why punishments are harsher on certain people is because of what mod is in charge and the history of that player.

Eg mai was a mod and knows better. If I was to see her mess up she would get a couple kicks and a mute.
You, however have been warned and repeat offended, you would get a kick and mute.

Call it bias if you like but it's mainly an inconsistency. Since mods are human we cannot always remember what punishments given, and do not always moderate in the same way. We might be harsher or more lienient. Not even Cyp is consistant.
And yes if a mod has a friend who does the wrong thing, since we know more about the person, they might be treated differently.

    Its life.

I agree on everything you said except for that.

Mods are kinda police and judge at same time. Judges IRL are told to retreat from cases where they could be involved in any private way. Since there is no separation between executive and judiciary forces on a server, this rule should apply even more here. Mods confronted with deviant behavior of a friend should report to a neutral mod who would have to take over. This way there could be no suspicion of bias and such.

I could however understand if this is difficult to practice this way. On a daily basis.

Actually, the well-known spammers usually get the long mutes and the first offenders get the kicks. Even if a report says "warned," it doesn't mean they weren't muted because there is no short cut for a mute like the warn and ban. You don't see who is actually kicked and who is muted.

I can count many examples where someone all caps spammed with "say a$$ for beacon" *cough* Stel & Jxnaa *cough* and no mod did something.

Bias has always been the problem when people get power over others.

humans are inherently biased and there's no way around it
now don't get me wrong, I am not saying it's fine to just say 'oh whatever mods are biased who cares', but it's impossible to fix.
you can try to fix it, you will maybe make a dent in it, but you will never eliminate all biased.
even people who say they are 'unbiased' in their mod apps are biased. one cannot be completely unbiased.

Different moderators moderate differently and they will not remember every single thing they punished you with. I agree with Krissy.

On a side note, Dewmellon, you said "Larry is a Niger". Doesn't that seem like bypassing the filter?

    technically, it is not.
Niger is a country is a country in Africa. Niger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
however, if you say 'x is a Niger', it is implied you mean the racial slur.
would you ever say 'x is a USA', or 'x is a Bulgaria'?
that is just not how english works; a country's name cannot be used that way
