There's the legal way, or the illegal way. Let's do the way that doesn't involve island farming.

Things you need:
1 Diamond Pickaxe (Without silk touch)
1 Enderchest, or the required grass to buy one.

Steps:
1. Place enderchest somewhere that you will get the items when you break it.
2. Majestically put your pickaxe in your hand.
3. Majestically swing your pickaxe and break the enderchest, when it breaks you get 8 obsidian.
4. People buy obsidian for 1-2 grass each, so you could end up with profits. Just enjoy!

I know lots of us already know, but this is for those who didn't.

 

Or any pickaxe, correct me if i'm wrong.

Yea and there is a way to save money in org by buying enderchest instead of obsidian and then break it using a pickaxe without silktouch to get 8 obsidian. (NekoEmmi's Way)
