Introduction Heya and welcome to my helper application. My name is Georgia but I’m frequently known as “GeoBerries” as it is my nickname. I’ve been playing Skyblock now for quite a while now (4+ years) however I have had a few breaks in between but I felt now is my time to finally and officially try and help the community out. I’ve written up 2 previous moderator applications in the past too (2016&2018). Your in-game name My in-game name is GeooBerry, however, my nickname is GeoBerries and has been since early February. What timezone are you in? I am currently In GMT. What country do you live in? I live in England, UK. What languages do you speak? I learnt basic German in secondary school and although I dropped it I’m able to speak quite fluently if I needed to. Google translate is also a useful tool I can use if I ever needed to communicate with non-English speaking players. Do you have 2FA enabled? Yes, I do. Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? Indeed, I use gyazo to take screenshots and bandicam to record any proof. Why do you think you should become a helper? I love helping players as much as possible because it’s a win-win situation for me and others. Quite a lot of people on the server know me and I enjoy making new friends too. Despite the breaks I’ve taken in the past, I’ve met some really good friends and they’ve stuck with me throughout my skyblock experience. I also like the idea of teaching and solving issues for the community. It's a commitment that I’d enjoy doing if I was ever promoted. Qualifications I believe I have⤵ •Unbiased and patient: I would treat all players the exact same, I see everybody as a normal player even if I am friends with them. If I struggled to be unbiased then I know I could pass the situation to another staff member but only if I really needed to. I’m strongly aware that patience is also a key qualification, I’ve witnessed a lot of drama and I’ve managed to stay calm and cool whilst trying to sort them out. I’d personally say I don’t lose my temper very often. To conclude this point I’d like to throw in that I have the same amount of respect for everybody, nobody is “special”. We are all members of the same community and whether you are ranked or not, it doesn’t make you any different. •Friendly and mature: I may only be sixteen but I’d like to consider myself as quite mature, I am able to make valid decisions and choices without feeling under pressure or stressed. I’m also able to be stern and serious if and when I need to, however, that doesn’t mean I can’t laugh and have a joke with players either. Many people say I have an outgoing personality and I’m quite approachable and friendly so with that said I’ll be able to keep doing that and ensure everybody’s skyblock experience a fun and friendly one. •Passionate and dedicated: Personally, I spend a lot of my free time on Skyblock, at least once a day I will log in and say hello and perhaps help a few people out if they need it. I don’t see helping as a choice that I’m forced to do or anything, help has naturally been a part of me since I was younger and it’s something I like to push out and encourage more to be like. Skyblock to me is a place unlike the real world, I’m able to actually get on and be as helpful as possible which in the real world is not that straight forward. Dedication is a big meaningful point to me because if you are not dedicated and willing to take time out for the things you love and enjoy- then there is not much of a point in doing it. I don’t help for the recognition, I help because it’s the right thing to do. •Multitasker: I strongly understand that being apart of the Skyblock staff team requires the ability to multitask. Whether it be a quiet day where not many people need help, you never know when help can spike up. You need to be ready to quickly respond to meet the needs of a player as well as being there if more than one person requires help. •Trustworthy: Many people have said to me that I am a “trustworthy” player and I believe that too. I am able to be private and confidential with players if they need to tell me anything serious without the fear of me running off and telling everybody else, I am highly approachable whether that be in-game, discord or forums- I’m not that scary! But however, I know when a situation becomes breaching of safeguarding or concerning to the point where I need to tell somebody else (higher up) for more back up support in regards to their health and wellbeing. The community’s safety and happiness is my number one priority. However* I’m like everybody else, I admit that I will not know answers to everybody’s questions (it’s quite rare) but still likely to occur. I know that if this was to happen then I could pass the question onto another member who may know more about it than I do. How long can you be on the server everyday? My activity can vary depending on studying and other things. •Monday- 4pm - 10:00/11:00pm. •Tuesday- 4pm - 10:00/11:00pm. I have football training on Tuesdays so may dip and change. •Wednesday- 4pm - 10:30pm. •Thursdays- 5pm - 11:00pm. •Fridays - 3:50pm - 12:00am. •Saturdays 11:00am - 11:00pm (will obviously take breaks in between). •Sundays 12:00pm - 9:00pm (my recovery day). Have you ever been banned in the past? I was banned back in classic once. I had a close friend that I allowed to go on my account whilst I was doing something else in another room, she had stolen a few items from a player that had me trusted on their island. After discussing what happened to the player, I did my ban time and made sure that my friend was never to go on my account again. (After a lecture on what she did and how that could jeopardise my position in the future.) Do you have any previous moderator experience? Previously, I was a super moderator in a medium-sized discord server, this is where I learnt all my experience and qualifications. It’s taught and showed me how to be friendly and welcoming as well as punishing players who stepped out of line, I was so appreciative of having that opportunity and experience that I can carry forward with me for future reference (like here!). Do you meet the requirements of staff? Yes, I’d like to believe so!
