So, I've decided to make an Org Economy guide, which is basically an Org-version of Artie's acclaimed Net Economy guide thread.

    Currency:

Differing from Net, Org's economy consists of money and item trade, whereas Net is only item trade. Money fluctuates on Org, which is dependent on how much items are worth. Unlike Net, where items' values don't change very much over a short period of time, Org's currency inflates and deflates over short periods. For example, the worth of iron has been lower compared to the value 2 weeks ago. Many reasons could cause this factor. For example, a large amount of iron could have been released to the economy from donor kits in a matter of a few days, reducing the net amount of iron. Of course the price iron will eventually raise in price over the course of the next few weeks, after most of the iron has been re-sold for more profit or used for crafting. This will bring me to my next point, earning money.

    Making Money:

Obviously we have the most basic ways of earning money, mining cobblestone and choppin' logs to sell for a humble profit. This is a great way to start out and make a few dollars to get you rolling on the economy, but once you have a few hundred dollars, you could invest that and make a profit. I will go more in-depth about that later on. Most Org non-donor players ignore visiting other shops and their prices, which is a mistake that you shouldn't make. One of the most fundamental ways of earning money is not through produce, but buying and the selling for more. This occurs not only in-game, but also in-real-life. It's a very easy way of getting money, all you would need is a few ChestShops (a plugin introduced to Org that Net has never seen the use of). Suppose you spotted a few rather cheap iron ingots in a shop, selling at $180 a piece. Even if you only have $600, you could make a nice profit off of that by buying 3 of those iron ingots and selling it for $200 each (which is still quite cheap, so you know you'll make a sale). That's already $60 made, and you've haven't even broken a sweat. Another way of making money on a larger scale are investments.

    Investing Your Money:

There are many ways of investments; of those, most commonly found are automated farms. Farms are by far the easiest way of investing and making a profit, as selling to AdminShop earns you a solid $32 per stack of pumpkins. Although they require many resources, any non-donor could eventually save up for one in a matter of weeks of work. Because donors receive kits filled with goodies of iron ingots, redstone, etc., it's not too hard to get items for your farms (e.i. pistons and repeaters).
Another way for investments are spawners. Even though a spawner costs a whoppin' 10-15k, you could still eventually make a profit. I've seen wool go for a stack for $16 on auction, or even $32 in ChestShops. Assuming you only make $8 per stack of wool, and you've paid 10k for a spawner, you can eventually make a profit from it. Also, dyed wool goes for even more, topping out at around $100 - $150 per stack.

    Dangers:

I wouldn't suggest buying things in bulk from an auction, because prices could be misleading. If you see 10 iron on auction, and everyone's bidding for it, you may accidentally ramp up the bid after someone "troll bidded" on auction. Obviously this is a troll, and I've actually done it before to Jakestarr ( formally the richest player on Org). Everyone was bidding on extremely cheap grass, and I stepped the bid up to 10k (a large sum of money) and Jakestarr thought I had only bidded 1k, and he bidded. Clearly, he wasn't a happy guy when he found out he had paid 9000 dollars more than it was worth.
Also, don't over-invest in anything like iron or grass, because prices fluctuate too much to know for sure that you're going to make a profit.

    Tips:

Invest in rares. By this, I don't mean iron or grass, because those are valued items of trade, not really "rare" items. By rares, I mean heads, spawners, beacons, diamonds (overrated, in my opinion, the only thing good about diamonds are diamond hoes), etc. These items' net worth will rarely change for the worse, as they are constantly getting rarer (with the exception of spawners).

Make a good shop that sells a bit lower than the usual price, so you know you're going to be bought from.

Make a giant LeePieGuy head on your island, it increases your popularity by ten-fold.

Remember to be nice and encouraging to people, that's also an investment.

    ^_^ Whatever works for you!

But in all seriousness, most people buy from cheaper shops.

Cool, if I become rich one day, I will certainly make the large head.
Is there a way to see a list of available shops?

No, but it's very easy to find them out because they are advertised all over chat. :)
