I don't know if this is supposed to be in off-topic but if not please let me know. I'm new ;). Anyways, there's something I've been wondering about Minecraft Forge. I want the mods and all... but there is something that I'm worried about. You see, when you install it, it redirects you to a different website. And when I look up at the "lock icon thing" to check if it is secure it says not secure. Now I'm kinda worried, I don't know whether I should download it cause I don't want my "IP" to be given to hackers. If you know what I mean of course. Should I go ahead and download it? I'm just curious, have you or other people get redirected to an insecure website. Please let me know. Thanks!

So the website it directs you too is just a ad website. If you feel uncomfortable with it, just delete the cookies or go into incognito mode so they automatically clear. Its not anything crazy sketchy, although it will just give you some more targeted ads, or just ads in general.

If you feel unsafe about your IP, using a vpn is a great way to go.

Just to double check, what website was it?

And also ya, this would probably be the right section for it? The help section may work, although it is normally for things different than this

I bet mods would archive it immediately if it was posted in help
