-Before you start reading this post, I would recommend you to listen to the song ''fix you'', which is on the bottom of the thread. Remember the good old days of skyblock, the one with over 200 people online.. Now, since then, it has died. But that doesn't mean that it is dead yet. How we are doing this? -By making advertisements. (Reddit, Youtube, etc..) -We need to make the players stay. I suggest adding pvp, maybe having the ability of having more than 1 island. -Active staff. Usually, all I see when I log on is just 1 mod. We need more active moderators/staff. -New admins. Our server owner/admin are barely online. I suggest to promote some well-trusted players to admin. If we want to make skyblock a top server, we need as much help as possible. Suggest your ideas down below and hopefully something happens.
I'd say 2013 was the best time for .net since the server was full most of the time. Regardless I don't play anymore online but from what I can tell it's not dying, it's been dead for a while. I highly doubt they'll give admin to anyone soon and PVP was popular for a while but I'm guessing it was unfair for non-donors since 100donors and skygods just one shotted everyone else. Probably the best choice would be to advertise it more but don't think they will but, I honestly think they need to make the server more community friendly and make the players feel like they're wanted in the server not just for their money which from my experience you need to pay a lot of money to be noticed on here. But these are just my opinions I'm most likely wrong with these considering I haven't played in months.
Your ideas seem very nice. The reason why no one is admin is that admins took advantage of their power, so yeah... I like the pvp idea, but people hacked a lot.
Yes, good idea PvP gets removed for good reason and if you didn't know the lag we get comes from the huge amount of islands we have in the world. Having 2 islands would mean editing the plugin and things like that plus risk increasing lag if every account could have multiple islands. People can just use an alt or something as most people do to gain extra islands. Generally with decreased player count there is less need for more staff. The problem with activity will never go away no matter how many staff you hire. Eg, Mineverse. We need the exisiting staff to be more active which, without sounding rude, isn't easy considering this is just a server and we have lives like any other person here. We give up some of our spare time assisting the community. "well trusted players". Honestly even if this was to happen they would not be in a position to do the things Cyp can do. Having the admins online is good, but not really the be all end all *did Now I doubt anyone would do what the admins did back then. Staff know the struggle it has been having to rely on one person and we wouldn't want to mess that up. History is where we learn the mistakes and change the future.
Some alright suggestions, but not overly original. As Krissy has already stated, adding extra islands and PvP is a hassle - but there are plenty of good suggestions people have made for how to spruce things up a bit. One thing you didn't really mention is bringing more players in. Sure, we focus a lot on making players stay as we are those players, but it's just as important, if not more important, to attract more new players and make sure the server isn't too difficult for them to start on, and is as enjoyable as possible. People leave the server - it's the natural circle of life - but you need new players to replace the old ones. You did mention this in a way, with advertisement (which is a great idea), but I think easier ways for new players to join and methods of recruiting said players is also an important issue that needs to be addressed.

So many people have suggested it, but it has never happened. -PvP was removed due to valid reasons, such as it encouraged hackers and donor 100s had an unfair advantage. Having more than one island, well. It seems like a nice idea, but it would be a hassle to incorporate and would increase lag. -Time zones is a main issue with the staff thing. I think promoting staff from varied parts of the globe is the solution. -Admins. I do not blame Cyp for not promoting more, since an admin severely abused their powers.
Compared to about 3 years ago, it has died a ton. It isn't fully dead, as stated in my thread, but it isn't the most active server. Either or, thank you for the feedback
I was thinking more of a new version of pvp, like a tournament. Either or, thank you for the feedback The problem is we need to find a way to attract people. Other than advertising, I could not seem to find any other way. Maybe the owners can add more features to the server, what do you think?
For the advertising part, I was thinking of making my own advertisements. I will need loads of help, though. I was thinking for a new PvP. Like a tournament type that happens in a specific time. Anyways, thanks for the feedback
