Recently, a Youtuber known as FitMc has been crashing servers during livestreams by having the watchers of the stream go on a server and spam the chat. This overwhelms the server and causes it to go down. Skyblock.net has been a victim of some of these "raids". There was a raid on Tuesday, October 25th and today, Thursday, October 27th.

I believe that Skyblock needs some kind of raid protection installed. In his last raid livestream, FitMc stated that he would be crashing more servers this Saturday, which is the day that the Halloween DP is supposed to be held. Fortunatlely, CypriotMerks will be on most of the day Saturday and should be able to stop any would-be raids. Unfortunately, the server will be vulnerable at any other time. Maybe a plugin that detects a large amount of people joining and then blocks the server would help.

Though I don't often say it, that was very well written sir. I do agree there need some protections though I have not witnessed these 'raids' myself.

I agree because the raids can be very fatal for the server. I also agree that we should have a plugin that will block large numbers of people coming in..

 

Anyways, if this happens during the drop party then it will just cause chaos. I support this.

Realize this gets the server name out. The max player limit was changed this summer already, to combat lag that these raids cause. net used to have limit of 2000 now 500 one reason some have stopped playing. No plugins are needed. don't worry he starts 1-2 hours after the drop party is to happen.

 

I feel we need as many mods on as possible during these "raids". I found out that he lets his subscribers go on first then he joins. So what that means if we start see massive amounts of people go on at once we know whats coming.
